Sunset Cultural Center
This is the meeting place for Carmel Food Tours. Look for the tall, Gothic-style arch and huge windows. It looks a little like a church, but it's not. When you descend into the courtyard, which is located EXACTLY at the intersection of 9th & San Carlos, you'll be greeted by your tour guide.
Carmel Food Tours is a guided 3-hour, walking, cultural, and tasting tour of beautiful Carmel-by-the-Sea. You'll spend time meandering through passageways and corridors, tasting your way along 6-7 restaurants and specialty shops. You will hear local insights and lore from your tour guide, and the afternoon will fly by while you discover new tastes and experiences that range from a honey company started by a 5th grader, to the only restaurant in Carmel that offers tableside preparation.

Delicious food, interesting commentary by the tour guide describing history and sights in Carmel, fun conversation with others in the group. It was wonderful to try new restaurants that we hadn’t previously experienced!

What a great way to get acquainted with the lovely town and all that it has to offer. Our tour operator, Bonni, was warm and full of information and insider tips on the best spots to eat and hang out in Carmel-by-the-Sea. We got the chance to not only eat many amazing curated food and generous wine pairings, but hear from the establishments themselves what they are about and their food. So much better than wandering around ourselves and a memorable worthwhile experience! Thank you Bonni!

The food was amazingggggg! Our tour guide Rusty shared some local insight into Carmel and took us to three restaurants, one dessert shop, and one honey shop. There was definitely more alcoholic beverages served than I was expecting, so keep that in mind if you are driving. My favorite stop was a sushi spot, Toro, where we got three small dishes each paired with a sake. So good! The tour included some walking through the quirky town, even some hidden or less known passageways, which was very cool. The tour ended in the early afternoon, perfect time for some shopping afterwards.
