What To Expect

1

Praca do Comercio (Terreiro do Paco)

As the boat sails past Terreiro do Paço (also known as Commerce Square), guests are treated to one of the most majestic riverfront views in Lisbon — especially stunning during golden hour. Here's what stands out: The grand arcaded buildings that frame the square in elegant 18th-century Pombaline architecture, glowing warmly in the setting sun. The striking Rua Augusta Arch, towering over the entrance to downtown Lisbon. The iconic yellow façades of historic government buildings surrounding the square. The famous Cais das Colunas (“Columns Pier”), with its twin marble pillars emerging from the river — once the ceremonial gateway for kings, ambassadors, and explorers arriving in Lisbon by sea. A unique riverfront perspective of the square, just as ships would have seen it centuries ago when arriving at the port of Lisbon. This moment offers a breathtaking panorama, perfect for photos and for connecting with the city’s rich maritime history — a highlight of the entire cruise.

Castelo De Sao Jorge

As the boat glides along the Tagus near Alfama, look up toward the city’s highest hill to spot the majestic São Jorge Castle — one of Lisbon’s oldest and most iconic landmarks. From the river, the castle offers a dramatic view of Lisbon’s layered history: Perched atop a hill, the castle walls and towers dominate the skyline, especially beautiful in the soft light of sunset. Originally a Moorish fortress from the 11th century, it was later taken by Christian forces in 1147 and became the royal palace for Portugal’s first kings. The view from the water reveals the castle’s silhouette framed by cypress trees and red rooftops, evoking centuries of battles, coronations, and royal intrigue. It offers a symbolic presence throughout the cruise — a sentinel watching over the city and the river that shaped its destiny. São Jorge Castle connects the modern capital with its medieval past, and from the river, it’s a breathtaking reminder of Lisbon’s enduring strength and beauty.

Gaby gave a full fascinating insight into Portuguese history, her knowledge is first class and delivered in such a lively interesting way Thank you both so much for such personal service!

We loved our sunset cruise from Cascais to Lisbon. We booked this somewhat last minute and are SO thankful we did! Our captain and partner were so kind and accommodating, and made us feel right at home. We had time to ourselves to enjoy the scenery, but also enjoyed conversation with Gabby as she shared facts and history about Portugal. The wine was enjoyed thoroughly, the weather was incredible, but the experience is what took everything to the next level. We would highly recommend this to any future travelers, and if we return, we will definitely be looking for this crew!

A wonderful experience ... we departed from Cascais and sailed along the coast always with beautiful landscapes . The highlight was the entrance to the Tagus and see Lisbon from the sea, the 25th of April bridge and the Tower of Belém all this with wonderful Sunset... Very friendly and attentive crew. A unique way to connect Cascais to Lisbon without traffic and with spectacular landscape.

We have done back and forth to Cascais from Lisbon and it was really nice. The captain explained the history of Portugal and pointed our attention to all the attractions we met on the way. They offered us drinks as well. I would really reccomend.

The boat trip from Lisbon to Cascais was an absolute highlight and highly recommended. The price included drinks, and our great guide Gabi wowed us with many exciting facts about Portuguese history. The captain was also super likable and provided a pleasant atmosphere with his casual nature. Our group was very fun and sociable, so a great atmosphere quickly emerged. The way back was especially magical: As we drove back to Lisbon from Cascais, we could watch the sunset over the sea – a dreamlike sight that completed the trip perfectly. The boat trip from Lisbon to Cascais was an absolute highlight and highly recommended. Drinks were included in the price, and our amazing guide Gabi shared so many fascinating stories about Portuguese history. The captain was also very friendly and created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Our group was fun and sociable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The absolute highlight, however, was the return journey: as we sailed back from Cascais to Lisbon, we watched the sunset over the ocean.
