What To Expect
Cat Ba National Park
Arrive at the National Park entrance, pay the entrance fee, and embark on an invigorating trek. Immerse yourself in the vibrant tropical forest as you encounter an array of wildlife, including agile minks, curious squirrels, playful monkeys, colorful butterflies, and perhaps even the elusive yellow-headed langur, a rare primate listed in the Red Book. Conquer three mountains known locally as "Ang Vắt," "Mây Bầu," and "Ang Phay."After completing a 2.5-hour trek covering approximately 6 kilometers, reach the Frog Pond, the largest freshwater lake nestled amidst the National Forest. From the pond's depths, towering "Va Nuoc" trees reach skyward, a species unique to the Frog Pond and found nowhere else on Cat Ba Island. Observe the diverse fish and crab species inhabiting the pond, and take a well-deserved 30-minute break. Continue your trek from Frog Pond, ascending the final mountain named "Doc Dài" to reach Viet Hai village, a tranquil ancient settlement of approximately 100 families.
Viet Hai Village
During our trekking trip through Cat Ba National Forest, we will stop at Viet Hai Village. Here we will have a foot massage at the fish stream, and have lunch at the restaurant with dishes imbued with the cultural identity of the local people. Next, we will cycle to visit the Village and move to the wharf to board the boat to visit Vinh Lan Ha. Viet Hai is a village deep in Cat Ba National Park with pristine beauty and extremely peaceful. This place will truly bring visitors interesting experiences and discoveries

5.00I was enjoying the day in a group of 6 guys + our lovely guide Gecko. Transport in time, a day with a lots of activities: challenging hiking, nice lunch, footh massage by small fishes, driving with the bicycle, enjoying the boat trip incl. kayaking and swimming.

5.00We did the trekking tour through Cat Ba National Park to the Viet Hai village an really enjoyed it! With Gecko as tour guide we had a fun trip and were led safely through the wonderful tropical rainforest. Gecko showed us many interesting things in nature and did a great job keeping the group together. He was also very easy to talk to, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The first half of the 12 km hike to Viet Hai village is easy to walk, the second half is more challenging and requires proper shoes because of lots of sections with steep rock trails. The way from Viet Hai village after a good lunch back to the harbour was a short bike tour. The boat tour through Lan Ha bay with the opportunity for kayaking and was the perfect ending as a great way to relax and enjoy the scenery after the hike. We can fully recommend doing the tour and absolutely would do it again!

5.00This tour is the perfect mix of jungle adventure and coastal beauty. The hike through the national park to Viet Hai Village was challenging but rewarding, and finishing the day cruising through the stunning limestone karsts of Lan Ha Bay was the perfect way to cool off. A huge thanks to our guide, Gecko! He was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and kept the group’s energy high the entire way. His passion for the island really made the experience special. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Vietnam!

5.00Very beautiful experience in the park of Cat ba. The guide was a very kindly and brilliant and he share with us a lot of experience and showing a small animal that you can't even see. He knew very well this área and He gives an added valué to this beautiful walk in the nature. I absolutely recommended it. The group was very small.
