Catamarans really are more fun to sail with the special bow nets designed for sunbathing, and lounging around watching sea life, and water rush by. The swift and stable ocean design ensures a comfortable, and exhilarating ride without the rolling and leaning that often causes seasickness on other boats. When you are welcomed aboard, you'll feel comfortable right away because we really do like people, and with such small groups, you've escaped the crowds. We always say it's great to be a tourist, but better to not feel like a tourist. With cushioned seating with back rests, our catamarans are comfortable for all ages of guests from young kids to seniors. A perfect way to spend a lazy day, unwinding and relaxing, no cares in the world.

Come experience the "Catamaran Difference". We have over 37 years of experience taking guests sailing in San Diego, and you will feel welcome right away on our cats. 2.5 hours is a good time because we cover a larger area, and see more beautiful sights. During our sail we will explore the harbor, and sight see areas such as the downtown skyline, Coronado Bay Bridge, the Embarcadero, and Midway aircraft carrier. We always see sea lions, seabirds, and often dolphins. Since we only take small groups, you'll feel like you're just out sailing with friends. Since we truly love to sail, we turn off the motor as soon as possible so you can just experience the quiet of the wind in the sails. Our catamarans are very wide and spacious, and they are comfortable for all ages of guests. There are several seating areas on the boats to find your perfect spot. Of course there are convenient bathroom facilities aboard. If you would like to take the wheel, and feel the power in the sails, you are welcome. We may not be the cheapest option, but my guys are "World Class", and are paid well. You'll get a great vibe on the boat right away, and make some great memories.

Best sail of the bay, hands down. Have been doing a sail of this bay every year for awhile, have been on monohull and other vessels but Ryan on the Wind Drum is a one-of-a-kind experience. The Wind Drum is an open catamaran, no cabin, super lightweight and it flies across the bay. While I love an aggressive tack, Ryan keeps an even keel with a zippy pace giving you the best of both worlds. You will see more of the bay than on any other vessel available for rent and it's spacious. Ryan is laid back, polite, professional and accommodating. The cooler is stocked, the blankets are clean and fresh and the boat is very tidy. Shoes off onboard but blankets keep the toes warm. Highly recommend if you want a true sail of the bay.

Captain Ryan was awesome - very informative and super nice. Made sure we were all taken care of with drinks and blankets. We had an amazing time. Nice intimate setting - well worth the price!

Captain Ryan is amazing. He is warm and welcoming and so knowledgeable of the history of San Diego. We did a sunset sail all through San Diego bay and it was fantastic. The boat is big and comfortable and easily accommodated our party of 7. The views of downtown San Diego and Coronado island from the water were incredible. Bring a good camera! For anyone visiting San Diego this is must do experience.

Captain Ryan and team make everything feel so intimate and joyful, like they have experienced a wonderful way of seeing the world that they eagerly want everyone else to feel as well. If you've never sailed before, you absolutely owe it to yourself to get out on the water with these excellent ambassadors of sailing.

We’ve been in SD for 3 days, sight seeing and having a great time in a beautiful city, but we definitely saved the BEST for the last experience here. This sunset sail was absolutely breathtaking beautiful and the Captain of our boat was so friendly and full of knowledge he shared with us on this wonderful little cruise!! Couldn’t have been any better!!

Beautiful and relaxing ride around the bay on a catamaran. I would definitely go again with this company. The guide was very knowledgeable on sailing and the area as well. It was lovely to be out on the water.

What a fun sunset sail! A friend booked for a birthday celebration. The captain was awesome. A local of San Diego his family going back generations back to the 50s. This is a boutique sail trip. We’ve done the big party boats, which are fun but you’re looking for space and don’t necessarily get quality time with your friends. This is personal and private and just damn fun. If you’re considering it just book!

Was in San Diego to visit friends and they suggested we take an evening to sail the bay with Fun Cat Sailing. The catmaran is stable and amazing to sail the bay while watching the sunset, having a few drinks, while hanging out with friends (including hanging our feet off the bow). Ryan was a great captain and sailed us beneath the Coronado bridge, alongside the navy ships, and cruised us along the banks as people waved, "hello." Great experience, highly recommend sailing with the Fun Cat catamaran!
