Operating Schedule:Who said you have to wait until Carnival to see a Samba School rehearsal? Samba Schools begin their preparation for the great Carnival parade several months in advance. The first rehearsals usually start in July or August (this depends on each samba school). From July on, every Saturday night, in small groups, we visit the prestigious Salgueiro Samba School (one of the best in Rio de Janeiro), and it will be our pleasure to take you to this unforgettable experience. Depending on your hotel, we will pick you up between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Your tour includes round-trip transportation from your accommodation in the following neighborhoods: Centro, Catete, Botafogo, Flamengo, Glória, Lapa, Copacabana, Leme, Ipanema, and Leblon. We do not offer pick-up in Barra da Tijuca, São Conrado, or Recreio (the meeting point will be at the Sheraton Leblon Hotel), nor in Santa Teresa (meeting point at Vila Galé Hotel – Centro). On the afternoon of your tour, the tour guide will inform you of the exact pick-up time. Upon arrival at the Samba School rehearsal, your entrance ticket will be included, and a comfortable table will be reserved for you and your group. This magical night will begin with a lively Brazilian Popular Music band. Beautiful samba dancers (passistas), traditional baianas, talented musicians, and the flag-bearing couple (mestre-sala and porta-bandeira) will introduce you to the fascinating world of Samba and Rio’s Carnival. Around 11:30 pm comes the highlight of the night: the performance of the bateria (percussion orchestra), the heart of the samba school. Sixty percussion instruments played simultaneously in perfect harmony create a wonderful rhythm of unmatched strength and joy. This rhythm is a treasure, a true cultural heritage of priceless value. At 1:00 am, we will take you and your group back to your accommodation. Your tour includes round-trip transportation, a licensed tour guide, entrance ticket, and a shared table. Food and drinks are not included. Without a doubt, you will remember this night forever!!! We can describe a samba school rehearsal, but there are no words to truly explain the incredible energy and the unique feeling of visiting a samba school. The Salgueiro Samba School rehearsal is not just a show — it is a wonderful cultural experience you simply cannot miss during your visit to Rio de Janeiro.

5.00It is an unmissable experience to delve into the essence of the Rio Carnival. Lully (guide), who accompanied me is amazing, she with her energy and warmth make that experience live it 100% and be a memory forever smile and be glad to have been there. The tour included roundtrip transportation, recommended for punctuality and because you leave samba school in the early morning.

5.00What a night. The Tour operator picked us up in time and brought us to the Salgueiro Place. Our group had a reserved table (which we actually didn’t need cause you’re standing from minute one). The evening was powerful, loud, lots of music and dancers and always with the lovely tour guide Lully - her energy is impressive 🥳 in the place you can eat some snacks and have drinks. At around 1:15 AM it ends and the transportation brings you back to hotel. Maybe you’ll be dancing Samba in the sleep 💤

5.00Lully was the best host and may be one of the happiest Cariocas I’ve ever met. We had so much fun at the samba night and it was great to watch everyone learn the new song for 2026 Carnival. If you get a chance to experience the samba school, definitely go with Lully!!!

5.00We loved this experience, very fun and close to carnival culture. You're going with Lully, who's super nice and super attentive. Besides having a great time we were taught by the school from the inside * and it is an activity with locals, it does not feel guiri at all. I recommend it!
