This adventure was amazing! The tour guide was very patient, helpful and kind to my 7 year old child. We all had a lot of fun. We would definitely recommend this adventure to any and all!

The tour experience was fantastic! The hike was challenging but definitely manageable and the views throughout made up for any difficulty it took to get to the end location. The caves were a neat experience (prepare to get wet), but I loved seeing the lush greenery and waterfall views. Our tour guide Derrick was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. We did have some van trouble which delayed things a bit but luckily we didn’t have other plans so it wasn’t an issue. My only advice would be to perhaps have a more solid backup plan (the guide) in case of an emergency or delay of that nature. Overall, despite the slight bump in the road, it was a great experience.

Charco Azul was an absolute highlight! Our guide Izzy was great, took himself for every time and took photos of everyone. We were a small group of only 3 people, which made the tour very personal. You won’t see such nature anywhere else – absolutely recommended!

I cannot even begin to put into words how amazing, phenomenal this excursion was. The memories alone are worth the experience. The adventure, the ruggedness and most importantly, having a guide that know the history, where to go like a local and super friendly. It felt like we knew him for a very long time. I highly recommend it! We cannot stop talking about the entire experience.

We didn’t get the trip we booked because conditions at Charco Azul were unsafe, we found that out after getting there. It rained torrentially overnight and San Juan had flash flood warnings but the tour guide surmised it was isolated to San Juan area, so we all went out there but to no avail. I just don’t understand how there is not a better local source of information. Also, description mentioned drinks and snacks but it’s only drinks, no snacks. We did go somewhere else and ended up having a pleasant day but I wouldn’t have paid this price to go there. The alternative actually charged an entrance fee which we had to cover but I think the tour company should have absorbed given the circumstances

Derek was great. Super strong and able to lift you up if you were not long legged enough to climb some of the rocks to get up to the cliff jump regions. I did a 6-ft jump and also a 12-ft jump but decided to opt out of the largest 30 ft drop. Everybody else in my group besides my friend and I did all three jumps and they were amazing and a lot of us were apprehensive about jumping off of the rocks, but once we did it we did not regret it! We had a small group of maybe eight or nine and everybody got along wonderfully and encouraged one another the oldest two in our group were 48 and 52 and we were both able to complete the two and a half hour physical journey of the trip without passing out for wishing we had not been on the trip in the first place. It was definitely strenuous and it definitely worked your entire body. You will be actively swimming for a good portion of this adventure. We got out of the van at 1:00 p.m. and we did not return to the van until 3:30 and we were actively actively Physically Active I am warning you the entire two and a half hours. Once we got back in the van we drove about 20 minutes to the Lagoon beach Chiquita. Be careful when you go out here, as the beach does have very smooth rocks with moss or seagrass or something very soft and wet growing on it and it can be quite dangerous if you get too cocky with yourself. The waves at this location can be quite strong and Derek even warns you that the waves will go up a bunch of large rocks that are close to the shore. We saw quite a few people get knocked down and get drug into the currents but they all took it in fun and we're laughing but it can be a serious situation quick if you are not a good swimmer. There does warn you to be a good swimmer or to not go out and Venture very far from the shoreline. My friend and I both got knocked down and scratched just slightly but we were definitely bleeding and laughing at the whole experience. You get an hour at the Lagoon beach after you were active for the last two and a half hours after your 20 minute ride to the beach. By 5:00, we were on our way back to the drop off point. We definitely did encounter some traffic on the way home and Derek took it in stride. There was food at the Lagoon Chiquita Beach and a few of our members of the tour said it was amazing and the best food they had eaten while out on their Puerto Rican vacation. Back in s a t u r c e, I found some really good pina coladas for $9, $7 without alcohol at a little place called a pie. Overall yes do book this excursion, just be prepared that you will be physically active for a good solid straight through portion of this trip once you get t o. CH a r c o. Azul! I just want to make it known that you will not just be simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery on this excursion you will be physically active and encouraged to do things to get yourself where you need to go through the currents of the cave Waters jumping over logs sliding over logs walking over some rusty farm equipment that has been deposited into the caverns. Just before one this is a workout before you think it is more of a simple trek into the rainforest. I in no way regret looking this adventure, but had no idea how sore I would be and how tired I would be when I completed this excursion. It was a great feeling though when I did complete it all with my friend and the other 52-year-old woman that was in my group that I just met that day that was there with her two -20 something children.
