Lance is the best! From the tour to the cooking class, he's amazing. You can see from how he speaks and presents everything that he loves what he's doing. The energy in the room as soon as we turned on the stove was fun and full of excitement. It was like I attended a cycling class haha. His English proficiency, paired with his command of the craft was one unforgettable experience. This was the best cooking class out of all the three I've attended during this trip. I'd surely tap him for more classes should I be back.

Best cooking class worldwide! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I take a cooking class in every country I visit, and this is hands-down the best! Our intimate group of 4 had an unforgettable time. We started at a local market where our guide, Jerry, showed us authentic ingredients. We even tasted century eggs, famous Sichuan peppers, and bought fresh combinations to take home. Jerry was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. At the school, we were welcomed with delicious Jasmine tea and learned the traditional way to drink it. The cooking was fantastic—we chopped alongside the chef while Jerry translated perfectly. We made 5 incredible dishes, tasting as we went. Afterward, we feasted together and Jerry even treated us to a beer! As a bonus, I asked to see how wontons were made; they happily showed us, let us try, and we ate them too! We also bought their beautifully done recipe book. Jerry was phenomenal and the chefs were outstanding. Don't miss this—it’s fun and delicious! Thank you!

We had such an amazing time at this cooking experience in Chengdu! From start to finish, everything was fun, engaging, and incredibly well organized. We not only got to cook authentic Sichuan dishes, but also learned so much about the local ingredients, spices, cooking techniques, and food culture along the way. A huge part of what made this experience unforgettable was our tour guide, Lance. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to be around. His excellent English made everything easy to understand, and his deep knowledge of Sichuan cuisine and spices gave us a much greater appreciation for the food we were making. What really stood out was how well he matched our energy and kept the atmosphere lively and enjoyable the entire time. He honestly made the experience 10 times better. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Chengdu who wants a fun, interactive, and authentic cultural experience!

A really fun experience - well worth it even if you’re solo! I was here for a business trip and the weekend cooking class with Lance was the perfect way to experience the city as a local. Very cool to see a market not for tourists, learn about the cuisine, and try some fresh fruit. Lance and Auntie Lee made the cooking part so much fun, not too much work, and the food was really incredible (there’s a lot of food)!

Fantastic cooking experience with Lance from Chili Cool China. Funny, patient, and deeply knowledgeable — he guided seamlessly in both English and Chinese, gave great local food recommendations, helped us buy spices to take home, and never rushed anything. The cooking was delicious, the beer was cold, and the whole experience felt generous and personal. Sent us off with gifts at the end.

My friend and I had a wonderful time at Chilli Cool’s cooking class. Lance was an excellent and friendly host, and he gave us a really informative market tour beforehand. Even though I was already quite familiar with Chinese cooking, I still learned many new things from Chef Leon. of course, the food was delicious! highly recommend this experience!
