The cooking class and the local market visit has been amazing! We had the chance to visit a local market and choose some of the especial ingredients to cook with Jerry and Aunty Li. This experience was absolutely incredible from start to finish. It’s so much more than just a cooking class — it’s a true cultural immersion. Jerry is simply the best! He takes you through the local market, introducing you to all the different ingredients and explaining them with fascinating details and stories. You learn so much about the products, their origins, and how they’re used in everyday Chinese cooking. It makes the whole experience feel authentic and special. After the market visit, you cook with “Auntie Li,” who is absolutely lovely — warm, welcoming, and an amazing cook. Watching her techniques and learning directly from her is such a privilege. The food we prepared was delicious, and the atmosphere felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. If you want a truly unique and fully immersive cultural experience, this is it. I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

I had a wonderful cooking class experience in Chengdu and would definitely recommend it 100% We started with a visit to a local market, where we learned about different vegetables, spices, and ingredients used in Sichuan cuisine. It was very interactive as we could taste products and ask lots of questions. Liddy, our guide. was incredibly knowledgeable and answered everything patiently, even questions not directly related to the class. After the market, we went to the workshop, had some tea, and enjoyed a relaxed conversation before we started cooking. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the small group made the experience even nicer. Together with Liddy and the chef, we prepared five different dishes. The instructions were clear, and all of the dishes turned out great. There are definitely a few that I’ll try to recreate at home. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and authentic experience. If you’re visiting Chengdu and are interested in food, this class is a MUST!

Spending time with Jerry was the highlight of our time in Chengdu. Getting around the local market while chatting about traditions, ingredients, why this, why that. Then we learned to cook several recipes and ate our dishes afterwards with some cold beer! Jerry went beyond his way to make us feel home and answer to our curiosities. It's a must do experience when in Chengdu, we wouldn't have grasped as much about the local culture without it!

This was the first time my friends and I visited Chengdu. We used a travel agency that booked us a unique cooking “workshop”. Truthfully we did not know what to expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the market tour/workshop. We learned a lot about the traditional Chinese market as well as some medicinal herbs. Our local guide was Lance, and he had a lot of great information to share with us. He was also an excellent instructor when it was time to cook our meal. His humor and patience definitely helped lighten the nervousness of my friends, since they were not so used to cooking. In the end, they created some wonderful traditional Sichuan dishes. We really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience a fun and entertaining cooking class in Chengdu.

Excellent experience. Loved the tour around. Lance was very informative and interesting. Learning about tea drinking was fascinating and learnt alot during the cooking. Will be finding my local Chinese shop to carry on. He adapted the menu as I was a veggie with no problem. Would recommend to anyone who likes cooking.

Amazing! I advise all of you to book a cooking class with them. It will be a 360 degrees Sichuan' experience, from a visit at the fresh market to a tea break through the real cooking class, you will end your experience eating all together the fresh foods you had just prepared with the local chef. I had the opportunity to do the experience guided by Lance, interesting, professional and beautiful Sichuan'guy. I must say thank you to all 🙏😊. Grazie di cuore dall'Italia! Francesca 🪷

This was a wonderful experience! Jerry was amazing, very patient with me and very very nice! I had such a great time - the info about local customs, the cooking techniques, and learning about the different ingredients was all fascinating. Going to the market was something I might not have done on my own, and I definitely would not know what a lot of things were, but was an experience I will not forget. And the food we made was so delicious!! Jerry was so kind and a wonderful teacher - he could teach even me to cook Sichuan! I HIGHLY recommend this to everyone visiting Chengdu.
