Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi)

When you come to Chengdu, you should definitely not miss the Panda Base. You can watch those pandas playing, eating, sleeping, getting angry or fighting. They may take the action alone, or gather together with other companions. Every move of them is so adorable that you cannot help yourself praising the cute creature. You can also learn some common knowledge about giant panda while visiting. You can watch the baby pandas in their delivery rooms, and there is also the panda museum to show you more about this Chinese national treasure. The base was constructed to simulate the original ecological surroundings for pandas’ living and breeding with an extremely high greening rate. You would feel in the wild with clear lake, streams, bamboo forests, grass lands, etc. In addition to pandas, there are also red pandas, black-necked cranes, white storks, white swans, black swans, geese, peacocks and so on, making you feel at a small funny zoo

Afternoon ticket: Choose this option to include a Afternoon Panda ticket only and will be available since 12:00pm(Noon) to 17:00pm.

Afternoon Ticket + Transfer

Duration: 5 hours: 30 minutes driving each way from Chengdu central hotel and you can spend 3-4 hrs at Panda base
About the transfer: Your driver can meet you between 11:30am--13:00pm of your hotel lobby and also drop off at your hotel after the tour.
About the pick up location: Your driver can picked up and dropped at your hotel lobby or city central.

Very interesting to see panda bears and reds EN semilinertad. We were unlucky and POR to high temperatures they were NO allowed out, POR in the end it was like EN a zoo.

Very convenient as we did not have to queue to buy tickets. It says ticket should be bought online but walk ins were allowed.

Unfortunately the my passport number was rejected at the entrance and I was unable to gain entry. I ended up purchasing another ticket for the next day through a different provider and had no issues.

This was an incredible experience and got to see a couple of big pandas up close. As you probably know, it gets VERY crowded as soon as a panda is spotted. We went in October and the crowds weren’t too bad. Make sure you go early, ideally at opening time to avoid lining up. Make sure you pre book your ticket. You don’t need a tour. Don’t expect to see pandas everywhere. We only saw 2 big ones and a couple of babies. And be patient, it’s a big place and may need to walk for a while before you see one but it’s a beautiful park to walk around. Plenty of food pls es and toilets

Basically a rip off - paid for the ticket entrance and glorified taxi journey and nothig else. No English guide, no instructions in English. Just left to fend for yourself.
