We went on a 2 day tour. On the first we drove from Bogota and hiked in the Chicaque reservation. The hike was lovely and not too difficult if you are in decent shape. We slept there overnight in a lovely wood cabin with a fireplace overlooking the the forest and mountains. It was amazing to wake up there and see the birds and animals from our porch. On the second day we went to a coffee farm for an immersive coffee experience where we picked, peeled, ground and toasted our own coffee! . The owner and his wife were so welcoming and as an added bonus they have a bird feeder that hosts several species of finches in beautiful colors, a real treat for bird and coffee enthusiasts. Our guide Diego was wonderful! So knowledgeable about the plants and wildlife and just a general nice guy that loves people and nature.

We had the gorgeous cloud forest almost entirely to ourselves, it is a beautiful park (a private park accessible to the public) with lots of birds. My guide was Camilo and Héctor was my driver. My travel partner has twisted his ankle so I went on this trip by myself (solo female) and I felt completely safe. I speak Spanish but I did choose the English guide option and Camilo and I conversed in both languages. Camilo and Hector were both incredibly knowledgeable about the animals, landscape, and local communities in and around Bogota and the cloud forest - they answered all of my million questions. The hike itself was mostly difficult because of the elevation.

We had a fabulous time with Andes EcoTours on our cloud forest birding trip to Chicaque National Park. Catching an endemic Black Inca hummingbird on our way to the park was a great highlight and all the birds in Chicaque were absolutely amazing. Our guides were outstanding and really made the trip an enjoyable experience! We even visited a local coffee shop nearby for an up-close view of numerous species of hummingbirds. We highly recommend Andes EcoTours for a perfect day trip birding experience!

Andes Ecotours is a professional operation. They are great at communicating on What’s App. My wife and I really enjoyed the Chicaque Cloud Forest Hike. Juan Camilo and Andres were amazing guides. Hector was a safe professional driver. The hike offered many beautiful views of valley below. We really loved seeing llamas. Our guides told us all about the various plants and animals as well as the history of the area. About half way we stopped for lunch on a beautiful look out. I highly recommend wearing hiking boots with good traction as the trail can get slippery when wet.

Had a fantastic experience at the park with our guides Jose Luis and Hector. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable...They even had patience with our hiking speed - I imagine they could have gone twice as fast as we did! Very steep in and out to the park, and some of the trails can be a bit tricky - but it all added to the mystique of being in the cloud forest. I enjoy birding - and appreciated seeing all the species - right about 50 during our time there. Have to admit I was a bit sore the next day - but well worth it!
