We are Newquays Number 1 Specialist Surf School. Our coaching team are all professionally qualified surf coaches as well as qualified beach lifeguards.

We only teach surfing, so you can sure your kids are in a safe and professional environment.

These kids lessons are great for all abilities as the coach will tailor the lesson depending on the abilities of the group. Its a max of 6 kids per session, all aged 8-13 year olds.

The sessions are each 2 hours long and we'll focus on having fun, catching lots of waves and giving your child expert surf coaching, whilst at the same time building their confidence, learning valuable ocean knowledge and making friends with other kids!

In addition, we boast the best facilities. Heated changing rooms, hot showers, towels, hairdryers, and a bar / restaurants with the best view in town! (all surfers receive 25% off food!)

What To Expect

Running every day during the School Holidays, let us look after the children and teach them how to surf on Towan beach, which is Newquays best beginner surfing beach. The Surf Sessions are each 2 hours long and we'll focus on having fun, catching lots of waves and giving your child expert surf coaching, whilst at the same time building their confidence, learning valuable ocean knowledge and making friends with other kids! The price includes all equipment (surfboard and wetsuit) and all the children are able to use our secure changing rooms and showers for before and after the lesson. This lesson is aimed at 8-13 year olds and all children need to be able to swim. Our lesson times vary depending on the tide (from 9am to 3pm) so once you have booked we will contact you to confirm the start time. My twin girls had a lesson yesterday for the first time and I absolutely can not tell you how impressed we were with every aspect of the process. The organiser was extremely friendly and has it organised operationally with impressive skills. The surf instructor was friendly and fun with the kids and they had the best time and we got many great shots of them on the board surfing the waves. Thank you! We will be back!

A fabulous experience for my 12 year old son. Jack the instructor was kind, encouraging and patient with the kids, and my son was soon standing up on the board. He absolutely loved it! The beach itself where the lessons are held had more gentle waves suitable for beginners and intermediates. It all went very well.

Kids loved their lessons. Only four in their session and it was for 2 hrs so really good value for money. Well located right next to the beach and great changing and shower facilities too. We ate at belushis afterwards which was also lovely. Loved the professional pics we got too

My son has been having surf lessons with Escape Surf School for the past couple of years and he absolutely loves them, it’s always the highlight of his holiday. The staff are always very friendly and always remember him. Great for all levels. Would highly recommend!!

These surf lessons were fantastic. I booked my daughter in for a one day lesson, she loved it so much that we booked her in again the following day. The two hour lessons were just the right amount of time and the group size perfect. A special mention to the instructor Lucy who had my daughter able to stand up on the board and surf independently on her second lesson. Great fun.

My son's who are 9 and 12 had "the best day ever" learning to surf with Escape. The teachers went out of their way to make sure they had the best experience and caught as many waves as they could. Super patient, knowledgeable with helpful tips, fun and clearly love what they do. Great facilities, and best view in town for a coffee after for Mum and Dad. Thanks Mike and crew for an awesome day, the boys can't wait to get back for another go!

Second time for by daughter and her friend trying surf lessons, they really enjoyed it again. Their instructor was Phoebe and she is super friendly, really knows her stuff and very patient. Would recommend.

Wow! Absolutely amazing! Our 8 year old absolutely loved his sessions during our stay in Cornwall. The instructors were kind and patient and really encouraged the kids! All you could see from the beach watching was a sea full of giant smiles from the kids. *warning my son had so much fun he now wants to take up surfing and has been googling where he can surf near where we live! Thank you Escape we will be back to Cornwall and to see you!

My son really enjoyed his first surfing experience, so much so he wants to do it again on our next visit to Newquay. Really good valve for money too. The staff and instructors were lovely, would definitely recommend to anyone especially children new to surfing.
