5.00The Chinatown Underworld Experience was one of the most memorable and educational tours we took in New York City. Our guide, Roger, was outstanding. He brought an incredible depth of historical knowledge, not only about Chinatown itself, but also about the waves of Chinese immigration to the United States and how those early immigrants helped shape the vibrant neighborhood that exists today. What made the experience truly special was Roger's ability to bring the history of Chinatown to life. As we walked through the neighborhood, he pointed out places of historical significance and shared fascinating stories about the people, events, and culture that shaped the community over generations. One of the highlights was meeting a former member of the Flying Dragons gang from the 1980s and 1990s, whose firsthand stories added a unique and unforgettable perspective to the tour. Roger is personable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the history he shares. His personal connection to Chinatown, combined with his deep knowledge of the neighborhood, made the experience feel authentic and immersive from start to finish. If you're visiting New York City and want to go beyond the typical tourist attractions, I highly recommend this tour.
