What To Expect
Get ready for a fun, flavorful and interactive journey about the true Curaçao Liqueur at the historic Chobolobo mansion. Learn about the bitter but aromatic and flavorful “Laraha” or “Golden Orange” found only on Curaçao. Discover how it evolved and the origins of the Senior family’s historic Curaçao Liqueur. Explore the Curaçao Liqueur Distillery with a knowledgeable and friendly local guide. Learn about our kosher operation, how we make this ‘other’ orange liqueur and the story of the world-famous Blue Curaçao. Meet a local bartender, in the historic 19th century Hòfi (garden), who will give you a taste of our various unique liqueur flavors and tell you the story behind each one. He’ll show you how to mix, shake and garnish Caribbean-hued tropical cocktails, and then it’s your turn to make your own signature cocktail. 5.00Very informative tour of the distillery. Our guide, Genesis, was very knowledgeable and engaged participants with questions and demonstrations. The small group size was a plus. The workshop was a fun experience. The bartenders assigned to us were genial and helpful. Due to the small group size, we were able to interact and ask about the different types of drinks everyone was making. Because you mix the cocktails yourself (with guidance), you can tailor them to your taste, maybe a little stronger or weaker. There are non-alcohol recipes available, as well. Overall, an interesting, engaging and fun experience.

5.00The history of the liquor known all over the world as Blue Curacao is fascinating. We toured the plant which is very much still manual and staying with tradition. Because we've had fun at previous cocktail workshops, we decided to give this one a try. It was a lot of fun even though it maybe wasn't as in depth as others we've done. We did learn some things! And of course you get to drink the final result, a bonus. If you enjoy an occasional cocktail, you owe it to yourself to do this tour. Friendly staff and fun atmosphere!

5.00We saw Jaden on multiple YouTube videos of how great of a host he is so we had to come see for ourselves! 10/10. Great vibes, great drinks, great atmosphere. I’d just suggest that the tour guide before we got to the cocktail class perhaps wear a microphone. It was hard to hear him in the distillery.

5.00A trip to Curacao is incomplete without a visit to Landhaus Chobolobo, birthplace of Genuine Curacao Liqueur. Readers beware, what you think of as Blue Curacao is almost certainly a knock off, lacking the aromatic complexity and layered flavour profile of the original. At Landhaus Chobolobo, you will follow the blending process that begins with the humble (and utterly inedible) lahara orange and ends with the spectacular orange liqueur in your glass. Our family took the cocktail workshop tour, which begins with the regular tour and ends with a hands-on cocktail workshop where you prepare your own drinks with bartender supervision and enjoy a hazy afternoon. If you have children of drinking age (18 in Curacao), this is a very fun and unusual way to spend a guaranteed few hours with your kids. All the tours include a tasting and visit to the bar, which has a stellar variety of curacao based drinks. The tour begins and ends in the gift shop, where all varieties of the product are available. You can admittedly get a better deal at a supermarket, but you won't find the full product line. This is also the only place to buy limited edition products, which contain higher alcohol content and are not exported due to the small number of bottles produced. Our trip was only marred by some other guests who stole our taxi, but the Landhaus staff were very helpful in arranging another. We had unfortunately returned our car before the tour, but I don't think I would have enjoyed this tour nearly as much if I was the designated driver. Definitely worth the cost. Book early, there are very few spots available for the workshop experiences.

5.00We had an excellent guide who led us through the history and production of Curaçao. Her presentation was clear and precise and was a much better experience than that of the large tour groups who filtered through. The second half, which consisted of making cocktails was also led by another young woman who gave an excellent demonstration on the mixing of various cocktails. All the ingredients were clearly laid out and there were generous portions of everything we needed. Our guide really helped and encouraged us in our efforts to make the perfect cocktails. The facility itself was clean and attractive and we would highly recommend this tour!!
