This tour was a fantastic value. We started the day on a catamaran sail, with refreshments provided. After that we went on the Chocolate tour at Hotel Chocolate. It was very interesting, we learned lots about the chocolate making process and it was so fun (albeit a lot of work) to make our own chocolate bars to take home. We ate amazing food at the Hotel Chocolate, and had time to shop and visit with tour mates. After all of that we went to the Sulfer Springs where our tour guide insisted on getting lots of pictures of all of us (something we forget to do a lot). And then we still finished the day with snorkeling by the Pitons and then a sunset catamaran ride (again with refreshments provided) back to Castries. This tour was a great value, you get so much for what you pay, and the tour guides are really fantastic and want you to enjoy your day. You will not be disappointed if you book this tour.

Well organized tour. All of the tour guides were friendly and fun. Picked up at 8:20a and dropped off at 8:30p; it is an all day tour but worth it.

Our full-day excursion with Island Routes was hands-down our favorite experience in St. Lucia! We did the catamaran cruise to Soufrière, and everything from start to finish was incredible. The boat ride was smooth and scenic, and we loved getting to make our own chocolate at Hotel Chocolat—such a fun and unique experience! Our guide even kept our handmade chocolate bars in a cooler so they wouldn’t melt. The included lunch was absolutely delicious, and after that, we enjoyed a relaxing mud bath. They even added a bonus volcano tour that wasn’t originally part of the package, which was a great surprise. We also got to snorkel at the base of the Pitons—an unforgettable spot with beautiful underwater views. To top it all off, the return cruise at sunset was stunning, complete with appetizers, beer, and rum punch. Transportation to and from our resort was included and on time, making the day totally seamless. We’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting St. Lucia—it was a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and culture!

You will definitely have a NEW appreciation for chocolate after this tour! Our driver told us about this tour and we are so glad we did it! I think it’s underrated to be honest! We started the morning on a catamaran to Soufriere where we got on a shuttle bus 🚌 to Hotel Chocolate. There we learned exactly how the cacao beans are grown, how they become plants- the process to chocolate making and the benefits of the cacao bean including their shells. Then we went upstairs and make chocolate bars from the cacao bean. I loved how we started the process from Scratch and got to decide how much sugar we wanted to add to make each bar to your own liking. Our tour guide was very helpful- he worked at the Hotel Chocolate along with 43 other ppl which is what it takes to keep it going. I had no idea how much chocolate is imported from St. Lucia. While are bars were baking- we ate a delish local lunch at Hotel chocolate and shopped. This lasted almost til 3 that day, but it went by so quickly. We then went to the Soufriere volcano and learned the history behind it, followed by the mud baths. This particular experience does not go to the waterfall- which we were fine with since we did that one the next day. We then went snorkeling at Sugar Beach between the Pitons! It was beautiful. We saw sea urchins, an octopus, all kinds of fish, huge hermit crabs and so much more. This was 45 mins and was at the very end of the tour which was about 5 or a little after. Then we got on our catamaran and came back to our resort! This was a full day and it ended about 7:30 pm - it was worth the full day and was filled with lots of different activities.

The boat ride out to Sofriere was a good time, the staff on board was so fun and friendly. Then the visit to the Chocolat Bean to Bar Experience was great, our tour guide was a lot of fun and it was so fun to see how chocolate is made and then be able to make our own bar of chocolate was so fun. The lunch afterwards was really delicious! The trip to the volcano site and then the mud baths was so interesting and fun. My skin still feels amazing! Then we stopped at Sugar Beach, which was beautiful, with the sights of the Piton Mountains right above us. There we could snorkle or swim. It was ok, but I could have done without that last stop. After we were done there, we boarded the catamaran again and it started raining, it rained the entire boat ride back, it was dark and miserable. We were all wet, tired and it was an extremely long 12-hour day. Without the stop at Sugar Beach, I think the excursion would have been perfect, but unfortunately, the extra stop made the last couple of hours miserable for us personally. Plus, we aren't drinkers so the loud music and loud, drunk people on board made it even more miserable for us.

This was a great day trip for my family (Husband, 2 kids- ages 10 & 12, & myself). The catamaran ride combined with seeing areas of St Lucia that we otherwise would not have visited was perfect for us. We found the trip to be educational and fun. We enjoyed chatting with our guide Spongecake who was very friendly and knowledgeable. This trip was excellent and definitely created some top memories for my family.

This was a mishmash of both good and negative experiences. The biggest issue is over packing people on the boats. They squeezed everyone in with other tours which made the experience less than it was. My husband and I did the chocolate decadence tour which was a great experience. Getting to learn about growing and trading in St. Lucia. Making chocolate from cocoa beans the old-fashioned way was really fun. Lunch with ice cream was included and quite filling. Next, we went to the sulfur springs which was fun but be prepared for how hot the springs are. We enjoyed it and loved that the guide took pictures for everyone. The worst part was the snorkeling. As soon as we were on the boat, we were literally thrown broken life vests and snorkel gear with fins. We were herded with a large group onto a beach that was mostly owned by Sandals so we could only stay on a small portion of it. There were too many people which made the fish watching experience less. My husband’s mask would not hug his face properly, so water kept getting into it. He was unable to enjoy the experience the way he should have. We were only given 35 minutes to snorkel before being called back on the boat. The cruise back at sunset was nice. The breeze was amazing and cruising on the shoreline provided fantastic scenery. Another issue was the number of people packed onto the boat. The Rum punch bar was great and we were provided with more than enough drinks. The food that was provided on the way back, however, was the only food in st. Lucia we both did not like. Everything was cold and tasteless. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but we won’t do it again unless there are a lot less people.

On the pamphlet the photo is of a mid size catamaran with a few people on it, in reality you are bussed down to get on a catamaran with 110 other people. 6 people cost 1600 dollars American. Let's do the math. Each catamaran is approximately 27,000 dollars a day. If you think they are not ripping you off you are wrong. We did the river raft float, what a joke, you sit on a bamboo raft, stop at a guys yard to taste his fruit from his yard and back on the raft. The zip lines are fun but you have to take a 2 hour drive in a van super hot 2 people got car sick on the way back. They advertised lunch and drinks, well they were a small tuna sandwich super thin, a small soda or water and a kids bag of chips. All of the tours seem to be a bait and switch. I would have to say unfortunately I can not recommend that anyone books any tour through island routes. I mean the guys on the beach are out there to hustle you, but atleast they describe what you will get for the money spent. Deal with the guys on the beach negotiate with them and enjoy!!! Do not use island routes. I have been told by sandals that they are going to handle it, we will see if that happens. Island routes is in every sandals lobby so I would have to say don't use island routes on any sandals period. They are only looking to get over on people.

This trip is definitely recommended. We had a great time. The hotel chocolat experience was fun, the food they served was superb! Sulphur springs and snorkeling at sugar bay was great. You never felt rushed at all which was good as with some trips it can be that way. The food on the boat was an added advantage and the sunset cruise back to port was amazing. Def one to do. Xxx
