A visit to the Citadelle Gin Distillery will immerse you in a dynamic, fresh atmosphere, totally suited to the summer season. Just 15 minutes from Cognac, let the scent of fresh lemons guide you to Chateau de Bonbonnet.
We'll show you the juniper fields and their berries, before immersing you in the craft of gin distillation.
We'll be delighted to take you on a tour of our magnificent citrus greenhouse, ending with a tasting of Citadelle Gin.

What To Expect
Join us for a tour of the Citadelle Gin distillery, in English, located at the heart of Château de Bonbonnet, and discover the secrets of the world's first artisan gin. For over a quarter of a century, the Citadelle team has been meticulously crafting this world-renowned gin, honored by the most prestigious spirits competitions and voted best French gin. At Citadelle, we aim to control every aspect of our production, including our juniper fields in front of the château, our orangery where citrus and aromatic plants grow, and our distillation of course! During your visit, you'll learn all about the production of France's first gin craft and its patented infusion process. We look forward to welcoming you to Château de Bonbonnet, where our team will reveal all the secrets of Citadelle Gin production!

5.00We had a fabulous tour. The guide Paul gave a lovely, informative and interesting talk and tour. We were amazed how well he spoke in English - without notes - and it was only his second tour. The tour itself includes not just a generous tasting at the end but information on the buildings, the chateau and the distillery history and its owner.

5.00Absolutely tip top tour of this magnificent distillerie by our English/French group (17 of us). Emma was a great host and talked us through the gin process as we visited the distillerie and orangerie. We finished with a delicious tasting - which was a big success by the number of purchases that were made in the shop! Highly recommended- cheers Emma!

5.00We made the booking really easily and found our way out to Citadelle Distillery. In all, it was a group of 8, and Emma was brilliant at talking us through the history, and the processes. The purchasing of several items was rather easy in the colourful boutique! It feels like a business and tour that will keep adding and growing to what you can experience here. Perhaps a small restaurant to soak up some of the gins that were tasted, and a cocktail book with all the gins incorporated. A best seller!

5.00Emma, our guide, was really passionate. She explained clearly the elaboration of gin, followed by a superb tasting of four gins – to be enjoyed, of course, in moderation! An experience to write in your diaries! Many thanks to Emma for her kindness, her pedagogy and her communicative passion. Thanks to her, we had a great time, as informative as it was friendly.

5.00Our guide Emma, was very well informed, we learnt the history.of the Chateau and the vision behind the brand. Opening a Gin Distillery in Cognac country was very risky! We really enjoyed the tour the tasting was brilliant, a variety of flavoured and natural Gins with different mixers. As a staunch Vodka drinker I may now be a convert!! We will be adding this to our regular visits when our guests arrive.
