• The app is unreliable

  We booked our tickets on line. When we validated them when we got on the bus there were no maps. There were signs which told us about their app. We downloaded on my data as wifi required a password and that wasn't displayed. The app gave limited info on stops not what was in the area. The app was meantbto tell you bus timings so as app said next bus would be 51 mins we decided to walkbetween step 13 and 14 . We walked for 10 mins and saw the bus pass us to go to our last stop. We nearly caught it at stop 14 but weren't fast enough. It stopped somewhere other than it showed on the app. We ended up crossing the road and got an earlier stop and going round again. We had a similar problem later at stop 7 the app showed no bus on that route we waited for 1 hr for a bus app still said no bus on route. We were on 3 different buses. Bus 2 had by far the best guide, Language and information top marks. Followed not to closely by bus 1, language ok information lacking and lastly bus 3. On 1 bus seat was broken, unfortunately bus was full, 2 of the 3 buses had badly cracked glass at the front. Definitely room for improvement especially with the app. I would understand a delay due to traffic but app should keep you informed with accurate info.

  A little disappointed with this tour. We have done many Hop-On Hop-Off Bus tours in other cities and countries and this one did not measure up. Our guide's English was not so good so we felt like we missed a lot of the interesting bits of information. She translated between English and Spanish (something that I could not do, so credit to her for that) and by the time she did that we were well past the thing that she was informing us about.

  Fairly average tour, we were given earphones to listen to English language guide which was fine until the commentary paused and loud rock music played which was dreadful. I would have preferred silence between each point of interest. Especially as the bus was also playing music but not the same music. The highlight was the Gloria statue on top of the mountain with spectacular views. A must see

  

  

  

  

• A Great Way To See (Part Of) The City

  My wife and I always go on the Hop-On Hop-Off tour whenever we visit a new city somewhere in the world. This was far from being one of the best we've taken, but it was still very good after the low expectations we got from reading other reviews. For us, it was still a worthwhile excursion. The tour went through several areas of the city, highlighting areas like Casco Viejo (Old Town), the Panama Canal Museum, Biomuseum, Nature Center and Flamenco Island. Our live guide provided commentary throughout, explaining the significance of each place, with some cultural and historical perspective as well. She also gave recommendations along the way of good places to visit later, or even if we wanted to hop off the bus and catch another one later. We didn't get off to attempt a second bus, so I can't speak to the complaint from others about the lack of timeliness. Why only 4 stars then? Because the bus service only has one route that arguably only covers half the city. Other places I've visited have had two, or even three, bus routes which allowed you to get a complete overview of the city you were visiting. This limited coverage area makes this tour not exactly a great value, but still worthwhile to get you to most of the main attractions of the city. Maybe spring for the extra $6 to get a 48 hour pass so you can get a ride back to the places you didn't hop off for on the first day.

  Overall, we enjoyed our tour but we had to wait more than 1 hour for a bus. My recommendation is to had more buses in service every 30 minutes. Also, the bus could consider selling water for patrons.

  Great way to see any city. Very educational. Nice scenery. Buses are very few with an hour or more waiting for the next bus. Some seats need fixing ....not usable. The buses were not crowded. • It’s expensive for what you get

  The bus comes quite infrequently and standing in the heat waiting over an hour is not fun. Old town and the canal are great but honestly an Uber is significantly cheaper.
