What To Expect
Preseren Square
We begin in Preseren Square, the beating heart of the city. We learn basic history of Ljubljana before we explore the different sights that are located at the square.
France Preseren statue
We learn about France Preseren, a truly colorful figure whose poetry inspired the nation during the Romantic days of the 19th Century. Find out why he was no Romeo and why we consider him to be our national poet.

Great Way to Get to Know Ljubljana

5.00The tour was 1 1/2 hours and it was very interesting. We saw the highlights of the Ljubljana old town. Our guide, Tina, was knowledgeable and provided a lot of history and information. At the end of the tour she provided discount cards for some activities and some stores.

5.00If you take this tour, I hope you will have Nina as your guide. What an incredible storyteller. I've been on tons of tours and it can be really hard to pare down hundreds of years of history into bite sized chunks for tourists with short attention spans. However, Nina did a fantastic job of telling compelling and interesting stories about the region. I truly learned so much from her. This is a very small area, so if you're not looking to walk much, this is a great tour option. This is a prepaid booking with FreeTours. It is good if you are traveling without cash but want to do a walking tour. However, the guide I had did have the option to accept credit card tips at the end.

5.00This was a fantastic tour! Nina was so knowledgeable & entertaining. She really engaged us and connected on a personal level. We learned so much that we wouldn’t have been able to on our own. 5.00Excellent tour with Tina who was very friendly, knowledgeable and caring - i didnt have an umbrella with me and she was most concerned that I didnt get too wet, pointing me to covered spaces while possible during the tour. Great personal references about her own grandfather's Slovenian heritage and her reminiscence about pre independence made it a very interesting and relevant to the local experience tour. Would definitely recommend her tours every time. Thank you Tina Jane and Caroline ( North Wales)

5.00We had an amazing tour with Tina. She was extremely knowledgeable and generous and sensitive with the information. It was one of the best free city tours we’ve experienced. Highly recommend. It’s honestly a “don’t miss” experience. It changed our whole experience of being in Ljubljana in the middle of winter and opened our eyes to the history, culture and beauty of this very special capital of Europe. I can’t praise enough.
