Preseren Square
We begin in Preseren Square, the beating heart of the city. We learn basic history of Ljubljana before we explore the different sights that are located at the square.
France Preseren statue
We learn about France Preseren, a truly colorful figure whose poetry inspired the nation during the Romantic days of the 19th Century. Find out why he was no Romeo and why we consider him to be our national poet.

Yesterday it joined the classical tour, which was very interesting, it took about 2 hours and we saw the most important attractions of the city. Domen explained very well and had a great sense of humour! Highly recommended!

We were led by tour guide named Tina. She is an outstanding tour guide for the Ljubljana city tour, she has deep knowledge, engaging storytelling, and passion for the city. She expertly connects each stop to Slovenian history and culture, ensuring the tour is both educational and enjoyable. Tina also recommended things to do and see in the city after the tour.

When visiting a new city, one of the first things I do is go on a walking tour. I have been on many such tours and this was one of the very best thanks to your amazing guide Tina (2). Tina was so friendly, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about her city. Can't think of a single negative thing to say about her! Tina showed us many interesting places and gave us vouchers for discounts at various places. The tour also included a small sample of the local alcohol. Highly recommended!

An excellent tour and we recommend it as a useful start to any trip to this beautiful city. Our Guide Vjoka was wonderful, very informative with a lovely friendly manner and a good sense of humour, which meant a very good atmosphere between everyone as we walked around. Our group size was a very comfortable 12 persons and the 2 hours length of the tour was ok and quite comfortable with a well planned route and plenty of stops. The fact that it is a free tour is an obvious attraction but it is important to remember that you should tip the guide the appropriate amount at the end of the tour. A very enjoyable experience and thank you Vojka.

We spent a very pleasant and informative two hours. Although the town is small, it hides many treasures and has a rich history. Our tour guide, Vojka, with her perfect English, introduced us to the city’s past. We owe the city’s appearance to the Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik, its cultural influence to the Slovenian poet France Prešeren, and this wonderful two-hour experience to Vojka. By the way, she also offers discount coupons, and we even got free tastings during the walk. We are very grateful. Thank you very much!

Excellent 2-hour tour, perfect for getting to know this lovely little capital city. Knew nothing of the architecture of Joze Plecnik in particular and how influential he was. Vojka (think that's correct!) was a very engaging and knowledgeable guide.

Met Tina outside the Pink Church, at first wondered if I’d last the two hour tour but it went so quickly, Tina was incredibly knowledgable and very willing to recommend local places and answer any questions. I recommend to anyone just arriving in the city. On her recommendation I went into the city library and the town hall, the Plečnik house museum. Which is do all again - especially the museum! Tina included stories of her grandad’s experience during the different occupations of Slovenia and his 4 different country passports over his lifetime! Was all great, highly recommend. Thank you Tina!
