Please note German guides are limited and we do not have the capacity to give everyone a German guide, These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please note we can not guarantee a German guide on every tour!!
please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show
What To Expect
Walvis Bay Esplanade
Our first stop is at the Walvis Bay esplanade. Here we see the Pink Flamingos. We learn about the greater and lesser Flamingos. We drop our tyre pressure to .8 bar and are ready to take on the beach ride. We pass the pink Salt lakes of the Salt Mine and passed hundreds of waders and palearctic migratory birds in the Lagoon, along the shore to the towering Dunes of Sandwich harbour. Magnificent wide open spaces as the dunes get closer to the sea. We enter where Dunes meets sea on a narrow strip of beach. Awesome dune views and walks await us. We take a stomach tingling roller coaster ride to the Sandwich harbor view point. The bay is at your feet, surrounded by the Nara bush. Sandy sandbanks are awash in the bay and the green sea with blue sky red dunes is absolutely awesome. We take a dune drive to the best views, searching for animals in the desert and look for an unique picnic spot. Lunch with a dune view, quiet, very quiet only us around. We have time for dune and beach walks.
Walvis Bay
Our route takes us through the dunes and a game drive where we might see Ostriches , Oryx, Jackal and Springbuck. On the beach the Seals may be sleeping or playing, and if we are lucky we will see Dolphins and Whales. The route is back along the shores with thousands of birds. Sadly we end up in Walvis Bay. We tank up and air up and take your back to your hotel.

He was very thoughtful and shared so much interesting information throughout the trip. The lunch provided was also very nice. This tour definitely made our honeymoon even more special!

5.00The day tour to Sandwich Harbor was great fun! Beautiful environment, fun driving on the beach and in the dunes, good lunch! You spend quite a bit of time in the rig, obviously, but it is worth it! Driving in the dunes was the highlight, but the salt ponds, flamingos and sea lions were also interesting. One area of improvement would be to put working seat belts in the vehicle. Ours did not have belts in the back seat, which seemed dangerous, given the kind of extreme driving we were doing. Otherwise, great tour! Would Recommend!

5.00On May 4th, we took a Sandwich Harbour tour with TONGAI, our great guide from sandwichhabourtours.com. We first looked at the guano platform in cloudy weather, and TONGAI explained its formation to us with a lot of knowledge. Then we went to the Pink Lakes, under a now blue sky and sunshine. Afterward, we saw flamingos, cormorants, pelicans, oryx, and springboks during a drive along the beach and in the shallow dunes. An angler showed us his catch. Then we went into the dunes. We descended dunes that we could not imagine could ever be driven on by a vehicle. But TONGAI expertly mastered every dune. It was a lot of fun. He drove us to the dune from which there is a magnificent view of Sandwich Harbour and told us a lot about it. We enjoyed a delicious picnic at the beach with more interesting information about the area. As a grand finale, we saw whales and dolphins. And at a pump in the desert, there was even fresh groundwater. On the "Kodak"😃 hill, Tongai took great memory photos of us with the Namibian flag. The whole tour was a lot of fun and is highly recommended, not least because of our perfect tour guide.

5.00The tour was an amazing experience, we loved it ! Crazy beautiful, never boring, and with an exceptional guide : Stephan ! We saw whales, oryx, springboks, falcons, cormorans, flamingos, seals and seagulls !! The views were incredible, safe and fun drive from our dear Stephan, and many info on Namibia, we learnt a lot. We felt privileged and had one of our best days in the country. We recommend 100%. The price was good, and drinks included such as beers and ciders, the food for lunch was okay (could be better). Thank you!!!!

2.00Disgraceful, operator didn't turn up, had to make multiple calls to find out what was happening, to be fair it was sorted, I think by Viator, not the operator, but they had to arrange a different operator and we had to wait nearly 2 hours, otherwise it would have been one star. So zero stars to sandwichharbourtours.com and 5 stars to Dominus Dune Tours who did a great tour for us and saved the day

5.00The tour was a highlight for us. A big thank you goes to our guide Riaan. With him it was always fun, informative and relaxed. You got the impression that he really enjoys what he does and that he not only rides the standard tour, but also offers a lot of extras on top. Like digging for water in the desert. While driving in the dunes you noticed that he was once a rally driver :-) The tour was packed with sights and great views and at the end there is also a little surprise. We can only recommend to everyone.

5.00Had a brilliant day seeing Sandwich Harbour and the amazing Namibian Coast. The guide, Andrew, was knowledgeable, easygoing and funny, making for a great experience. Saw plenty of wildlife, sped along beach roads and got up close to the incredible dunes. An unforgettable day!
