Music was very good but the church, although beautiful, is not built for sound Musicians mainly appear to be very talented graduate students making summer cash.

Beautiful venue, but a bit warm and seating is uncomfortable. Performance was amazing. I think the extra cost for sitting up front was well worth it. Watching the musicians up close made the whole experience better.

  • Terrible acoustics and inconsistent ensemble.

The location is beautiful and the first violin was very good. However the acoustics are absolutely terrible. Moreover, the rest of the ensemble was inconsistent.

  • Marvelous musical evening in Vienna

Karlskirche is probably the most beautiful church in Vienna. It reminded me somewhat of St. Peter's in Rome--both Renaissance/Baroque masterpieces. The crowd was large (c. 800) and enthusiastic. The musicians were excellent. I have attended numerous performances in Europe including chamber concerts, opera, ballet and theater. This was one of the best. I especially appreciate being sent the tickets before our departure. . . it was one less thing to worry about.

This is a beautiful concert experience. The musicians are absolutely incredible and the Vivaldi pieces are beautiful - soul-stirring. Expect an on-time, 75-minute performance, which feels just right. In June, it was very warm in the church, so dress accordingly.
