Dunguaire Castle's

Leaving Dublin at 8am we travel 2.5hrs, west towards Galway. Situated on the Galway coast near the town of Kinvara. Dunaguire Castle is an impressive medieval castle dating back to 1520. Spread over 3 levels with a narrow stone staircase taking you to the rooftop where, you'll get to see some fantastic views of Galway Bay and The Burren. You don't have to go in as the outside of the Castle is just as impressive as the inside.

Poulnabrone Dolmen

40 minutes drive from Dunguire Castle, lies Poulnabrone Dolmen. Situated on the high Burren limestone plateau, Poulnabrone Dolmen is one of Ireland’s most iconic archaeological monuments and is the second most visited location in the Burren after the Cliffs of Moher. It is the oldest dated megalithic monument in Ireland. Poulnabrone is classified as a portal tomb. Portal tombs have two large portal stones standing on either side of an entrance capped with a massive sloping capstone. A second stone which lies on the ground at the rear of the monument was likely a second capstone which would have fitted in under the main capstone and covered the back of the structure. This part collapsed at some unknown time in the past. The tomb was built on limestone pavement and surrounded by a low mound of rocks. Come with us on this journey to relive our megalithic ancestors lives.

  • Great tour company helping make memories through beautiful Ireland

Top notch service to say the least. We were greeted with a roomy, comfortable, clean & large vehicle by Rodney, who is upbeat and cheerful. He took us to the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren. Points of interest were highlighted, and anything we asked was answered. We made stops to get snacks and lunch and to take pictures though farms and villages along our route. This is a great way to travel through the Country. Well worth it over public transportation. Door to door, with someone else lifting and minding your luggage while you enjoy the sights. I highly recommend this company. Anyone working here is held to a high standard of service for your comfort and enjoyment.

Rodney arrived early and was waiting for us in an immaculate, roomy Mercedes which comfortably fit the four of our party and all our luggage with room to spare! We started our journey to Galway which was interspersed with stops along the way for photo ops and assorted points of interest. We are from America so there was a stop along the way in Moneygall to see a statue of Barak and Michelle Obama erected to commemorate their visit to Obama's ancestral origin in Ireland. Rodney regaled us with all the fun facts associated and we got the pics with the statue. Then back on the road... This review would be way too long with all the details so to sum up... Stopped at Bunratty Castle for the tour... Rodney was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining the entire way. Stopped in Doolan for an a delicious lunch which happily Rodney joined us for. Final leg of the journey to Galway we passed so much breathtaking scenery and Rodney narrated with fun facts. Then we experienced the Cliffs of Moher with a sparkling perfect late afternoon walk and viewing...Breathtaking. Arrived in Galway and already felt oriented as Rodney gave us all the best info regarding pubs restaurants and nightlife. There are not enough words to convey our level of happiness and satisfaction with Transferme. We would highly recommend this professional and friendly company for ANY trip, anywhere, any time. Thanks again Rodney for a day we will remember forever. Look forward to next time!
