Best way to experience Sugarloaf if you enjoy the outdoors and/or rock climbing and hiking. I did the middle Coringa route which was honestly tougher than any climb I’ve done before as an experienced beginner to somewhat intermediate climber, but one who hasn’t climbed with ropes in several years and is a bit out of shape. My guide was extremely helpful with a refresher on belaying and safety, helped keep me going, and was patient when I was slow in several places. The views are gorgeous all along the way and I loved the variation you get with multi-pitch rock climbing, slabs, rock scramble, and regular hiking. All the gear I needed was provided which was so nice. Definitely bring bug spray as the mosquitoes were out in full force. I would also make sure you bring no less than 1L of water and then there’s cold filtered water at the top you can refill for free by the bathrooms. Getting down by the tram is easy and so worth it after the long climb up. Met up with my guide at a nearby restaurant around 1pm and made it up to the very top by 4pm with plenty of breaks throughout. Highly recommend this experience!

The climbing tour was awesome. Well organized and prepared for the climb. I got proper instructions and we practiced in front of the best view of the beach and the sugarloaf mountain. I loved it

Victor was an amazing guide to work with. Super knowledgeable and made us (two women) feel incredibly comfortable on our first solo outside climb.

My guide was super nice, the tour was nice, though a bit short, we were in the Coringa route. Next time it's the Italianos route!

I had the most wonderful time! As a beginner, Adilio made me instantly comfortable and took me from 0 to be able to multi-pitch climb in one session. The route chosen was very appropriate for many levels and Adilio’s guidance was everything I could hope for.

This company went ABOVE and BEYOND to accommodate my friend and I after another company cancelled on us last minute. Our instructor Lucas was awesome. He was so kind, friendly, patient and knowledgeable about rock climbing. I felt very safe with him which was important considering the fact that it was my first time rock climbing. When I come back to Rio I will book this tour again and would definitely recommend to others. I’m sure all of their instructors are great but if you book this tour seriously ask for Lucas.
