What To Expect
The Tour Climbing Huayna Potosí begins
Huayna Potosi
This day begins with the concentration in our office at 08:30, to test the climbing equipment and then go to the Base Camp (4700m) in private mobility, 1 hour and 45 minutes from the city of La Paz and around 11 : 12 am. After lunch, after lunch the trek to the old distant glacier begins at 1 hour and a half, where ice climbing is practiced, making use of all the equipment, after 1 hour of practice we return to the base camp refuge. At 18:00 we have dinner and then rest.
acclimatization and ascent

This day of rest in the morning and we have lunch at the base camp to have a better acclimatization we have lunch that began the ascent, after 1 hour we prepare our things to ascend to the refuge of Campo Alto (5130 m.), upon arrival to this after 3 hours, dinner will be served and free time that is used for acclimatization, around 18:00 we rest until midnight.
Climb to the top and back
Huayna Potosi
The 3rd day starts very early, around midnight with breakfast, which begins the ascent to the top of Huayna Potosí at 01:00, from the Campo Alto climb on the glacier, the route has an incline of 35 ° to 40 ° and the ascent has an average duration of 4 to 7 hours. The tourist is attached to the guide by a rope, the first part is relatively easy up to 5,500m approx. From this point a wall of 50 m is climbed. Of longitude whose inclination is from 55 ° to 60 °, once at 5800m we reach a plateau and continue our route along a ridge that leads us to the top (6088m), Around 06:30 we reach the top of where we can appreciate all the beauty of the real Andes mountain range. After 10 minutes we return to the High Camp in 2 hours, pick up the equipment and in 1.5 more hours we descend to the Base Camp from here we return to the city of La Paz, arriving at 2:00 pm

5.00Great experience! The tour agency was great at predicting the best day of the week to summit and there was lots of gear and extra stuff to choose from. The guide Jhonny from the base camp onwards was obliging and patient in showing me to wear my gear and to use it right at the training glacier. He showed genuine compassion and fun to track that mountain again with us and at times of struggle he was with empathy and gave us great motivation to make it up to the Huayna Potosi summit. Thanks Jhonny!
