This half-day food tour through Colombo gives the opportunity to try a large range of the authentic street food that very few tourists ever get the chance to try.
Wander around the Pettah Market while drinking one of the famous king coconut drinks! Discover what makes the Sri Lankan hopper so special all around the world.
Enjoy explosive fiery flavor of spicy symbols and the fun deliciousness of red and white rice string hoppers. Turn your attention to the complex flavors of fruit chutneys and Sri Lankan pickles. Inhale the aroma at a cassava chip stall as crunch your way through them. Enjoy a cup of tea with a nice fresh samosa - a triangular pastry filled with savory goodness. Try some of Sri Lanka’s more exotic fruits.
After a walk around the Old Town Hall Market, go for a more filling meal. You will have the choice of selecting a packet of lump-rice or lamp rice as some of the food stalls advertise, or a giant plate of the much spoken about koththu Rotti.

Our afternoon normally starts at 3.30 pm finish with a local street food dinner. You will try very popular Sri Lankan dinner dishes like Kottu, Egg hoppers, and various other options.

5.0I had Thairu as my tour guide, and he was hands down the best guide I had in Sri Lanka! He’s incredibly fun to be around, has a great sense of humor, and knows so much about the sites. He even adjusted the itinerary to make sure I got to see everything I wanted. At one point, I lost the back of my earring, and he actually searched the streets until he found it! When our tuk-tuk broke down on the way home, I was ready to grab an Uber, but he insisted on personally escorting me back in another tuk-tuk. I can’t recommend him enough—if you’re considering this tour, definitely go with Thairu!

2.0Unfortunately this experience was getting driven around the city without a lot of interaction. The guide wasn’t much of a guide at all and took us around to different spots, albeit very cool areas but we were expecting an actual guide to chat to and learn about the food and culture. Our guide spent most of his time talking on the phone while we walked around from place to place. It didn’t seem like an a very well organized company. I would book elsewhere for a better experience.

5.0Had a fabulous city/ food tour today, I booked in the morning after realising it was a public Bank Holiday. So the tour operator did a revised itinerary due to a couple of places that were closed for the holiday, he sent me the tour in advance for my approval before I booked and paid. My tour guide Asiri was wonderful Although I'd been sent a list of tour stops, and food I'd be trying. Asiri was very flexible I could skip certain places or stop if I spotted something of interest. It was alot of fun. I wasn't rushed at all, and could spend as much time as I wanted at each stop I was picked up at 3.30pm from my guest house, and was still out sightseeing at 10pm.... Would definitely recommend.. 5 stars

1.0Ridiculously overpriced. I've been on food tours around the world and it's one of my favourite things to do. But this is hardly a food tour. We spent 80% of the time in a Tuktuk. There was not much to try or eat at all. Our driver looked like he was winging it the whole time. Made me feel like theres nothing to actually try in Sri Lanka. Would not recommend.

4.0Pradeeptka was amazing showed us so many places in the city, all the highlights, markets He explained the history very in detail. Great local tour guide. The food wow - we were so full by the end, could barely move, he talk us to areas where the locals eat, food was truly fabulous-thank you pradeeptka Would definitely recommend this tour
