This full day raptor identification course with Ecologist Dr. Ryan Dibala is sure to inspire a lifelong interest in our birds of prey. Although the Colorado mid-winter may seem bleak and unproductive for bird sightings, it is the most important time of year for nesting raptors.
Throughout the day, search several nature reserves in and around Denver for nesting eagles, learn about their nesting biology and behavior, and review important field identification techniques for raptors. Possible sightings may include Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, Ferruginous Hawk, Rough-legged Hawk, Northern Harrier, Prairie Falcon, and American Kestrel. Guests will also learn about owls and visit several areas where sightings may be possible. Test your identification skills in the field, practice photography, and learn about the ecology of these fascinating predators.

Ryan’s tours are awesome. So insightful and full of in-depth information. From just a sound Ryan can pinpoint the bird it’s really impressive. Also Ryan as just a person is very kind and thoughtful and just fun to have on a hike. I got this as a gift for my in-laws and was not disappointed. Highly recommended!

Such an awesome experience! We saw so many birds across the front range. Ryan is extremely knowledgeable, constantly sharing cool information throughout the tour. This was a gift for my mom and probably the most memorable gift ever received. Thank you Ryan! Can’t wait for another future tour.

Booking our private birding tour with Ryan was a breeze. He was responsive and easy to communicate with, ensuring everything was well-coordinated from start to finish. I needed to move the date and he accommodated our change in schedule. He packed a great lunch for us and made sure we had plenty of stops along the way for restroom breaks and snacks. During the tour, we were thrilled to see many raptors, and Ryan went above and beyond to help us spot an owl, which was my husband's top goal. His engaging personality and deep knowledge made the experience even more enjoyable. We even did a quick waterfall stop, which we loved. We had the best time and look forward to booking another tour in the future!

This was my first birdwatching experience, and I couldn’t have asked for better. Ryan taught me so much, and is the most down to earth, kind person. We spent the day looking for birds of prey, and I was so geeked whenever we found one, and we saw so many other birds along the way. It was worth every penny. Thank you Ryan!

Perfect! Ryan is a very pleasant guide who is a wealth of knowledge. My goal for the day was to get a photo of an owl(s). The first park we went to he found 2 Great Horned Owls. I could have ended our tour right then but would have missed out on the 35 other species I was fortunate to see. . He knows the habitat, sounds and terrain to locate stunning birds I had never seen or heard before. The biggest thing I took away from the tour is to pay attention to your surrounding and you will see or hear nothing but beauty. And that is nothing to take for granted.

We highly recommend Ryan and Birding Man Adventures. Ryan is very knowledgeable on a wide variety of birds, and he was able to take us to see the birds we wanted to see, mostly birds of prey. Although we saw many species, the highlights were the Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, Osprey, Red Tailed Hawks, and a Great Horned Owl. We were able to see four nests with chicks! Amazing! Ryan helped us make the most of our limited time in Colorado, and we would not have been able to see all the species without him! We hope to take another tour with him, next time we are in Denver.

Ryan gave a wonderful birding tour around the Boulder, Golden, Longmont, Lyons, Nederland area of Colorado. He showed us many variety of different species of birds in their nesting spots and habitat. We even got to see some Big Horn sheep. Ryan has a keen sense and good eye sight of spotting and where to look for the birds. He is an expert in answering your questions of the different variety of birds. I left the tour becoming more observant of the beautiful nature surroundings all around us and the sounds and sights of birds.

Ryan Dibala of Birding Man Adventures is the go-to guide to see birds in Colorado. He is extremely knowledgeable about birds and their habitats, and where to find target species. He also knows a lot about the ecology, plant life and history of Colorado. This was my second time birding with him, and we saw 62 species in one day (9 were lifers)!!! If you plan to bird in Colorado, I highly recommend you contact Ryan.

This tour is a MUST DO! Ryan is such an accommodating and salt of the earth kind of human. Leading up to the trip the temperature forecasted for our tour date was of concern so we reached out to Ryan to cancel our experience. Instead of canceling he suggested we switch gears a bit and head into the mountains- ensuring us we would have an amazing day… and he did not disappoint! We hiked out to an amazing vista with breathtaking views all around for a wonderful picnic, stopping to appreciate the abundance of wildlife the Rocky Mountains has to offer along the way. This is hands down the best guided tour our family has ever been on. Ryan’s personality, charisma and abundant kindness made it feel as though we were all family. Thank you Ryan! Hope to see you and your wife in NH some time soon!
