Avoid the standard group tour and immerse yourself in the Colosseum's 2,000-year history with this special access Ancient Rome experience.
We'll walk in the same steps of gladiators, emperors, and doomed prisoners. Bloodthirsty Romans gathered in this ancient stadium to watch deadly sports and executions, and I'll explain every gory detail.
We'll spend about 90 minutes exploring the Colosseum with special access onto the arena floor where gladiators fought, while also allowing you free time for photos and self-exploration.
Following the Colosseum, we'll make way to the Roman Forum (Ancient City) and Palatine Hill (Cesar's Palace), where we'll again enjoy special access to secret passages used by the Emperor, and not open to the general public.

Excellent guide. Lovely lady originally from Bulgaria with excellent English and VERY knowledgeable. We went straight in with no queuing which was amazing as the line was VERY long. Well worth the money.

Our tour guide (Valeda?) was awesome. She gave us so many interesting facts during the tour. She came back down from the upper level to get me because I couldn’t walk up the stairs. She made sure everyone was able to keep up and tried to stop in the shade when she could as it was hot out today.

David was a great guide and connected with everyone in the group. There were a couple of small boys that he made a point of keeping things interesting for them. David seemed to have a good understanding of the history of the Colosseum and the surrounding areas. Would definitely recommend.

Great tour with David, he was clearly very knowledgeable. He was engaging and had a great sense of humour. I will be recommending him to my daughter who is visiting next month.

Our tour guide was excellent. A great experience all around. After going on other guided tour to other places, I really appreciated our guide telling stories in history that you could connect to, getting to know everyone by asking questions and making it interactive and keeping everyone engaged. Those little things make a big difference.

This was an excellent tour by an excellent Tour Guide David… factual, entertaining and extremely engaging, David brought the Colosseum to life. Palentine hill was also included in this tour and we were entertained by David during the 15 minute or so walk to this area, he has an amusing way of remembering people / faces (I won’t spoil his technique) - he demonstrates genuine knowledge of his City and has a true passion for it! Extremely enjoyable tour which we highly recommend 👏👏👏👏

We often don't like group tours, but the history here was too important and we were very glad we did it. David, our guide, was born less than a mile from the Colosseum and clearly loved teaching crowds the history of this beautiful place. He was English and Italian and had a wonderful way of speaking that was fun and easy to understand. Sometimes, tour guides don't know enough of the history and try to fill time with attempts at humor, but David was full of history! Bonus, he was also very good with people! We left Rome today feeling like we learned what history books missed. Easily, one of the best tours we've had.
