Roman Forum
Just west of the Colosseum is the Roman Forum, which for many centuries was the place where the future of the ancient western civilization was decided. We will also provide you with access to the Roman Forum and you will still be under the careful attention of our expert guide. Although today the Roman Forum stands in ruins, for many reigns it was at the very center of Rome’s activities. It started as a marketplace for daily shopping, but as the power of the Empire grew, it became much more important. In this part of the tour, you will explore the remnants of ancient grandiose temples, bustling marketplaces, and imposing civic buildings. We will also show you the place where Rome first began—on Palatine Hill. Rome’s ancient existence has earned it the name “the Eternal City,” and its time as the ruling city of the lands bordering the Mediterranean Sea has earned it the designation “Capital of the World.”

Fantastic experience - would highly recommend this tour to elevate the colosseum experience. They only take a group of ~25 people down at a time and you’re the only ones so it’s a very intimate experience, and you learn so much more about the history. Also get access to roped off areas above ground to for the best pictures and history lessons! 10/10, highly recommend booking this. Tour guide was phenomenal as well.

Our tour of the Roman Forum was a good experience with a guide who was easy to understand and informative. However we really struggled to understand our tour guide for the underground tour .Her English was not great and and we were often left tuning out to her commentary. It was a shame because it looked amazing but it was difficult for us to know what was being said.

This was my first tour with a guide. I'm glad I had this experience because it gave me more information about the historical sites and backgrounds of the tour which helped me understand the historical monuments more so than just looking at it.

Absolutely amazing, in a group of 20 which were perfect! First around forum and palatine Hill Looking at all the ruins and the information the tour guide gave us was amazing. Then to an underground Colosseum tour where there were only our group of 20. So informative and amazing photos. After the underground we were taken to the colosseum arena floor again where there were very minimal people, great photo opportunity’s, after there we were aloud to explore the rest of the colosseum at our own leisure. Thank you x

This was an amazing experience. I do wish that it was a bit slower paced so I could truly digest everything I was experiencing. Luckily we spent the full day exploring and purchased another ticket to take in more of the colosseum.

Great tour, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a great idea as to what the Coliseum and forum would have been like in there heyday. This tour does involve a lot of walking and steps so make sure to wear comfy shoes!!

Definitely do the underground tour -- it's something past generations in the modern era never saw. The early tour is best if it's a clear day, great light, plus the crowds are a little smaller. Our guide was good.

I’ve been to over 50 countries and this is the first time I’ve ever written a bad review. We paid to experience the underground part of the Colosseum but didn’t get to see it at all. We were given incorrect information on where to meet the tour guide. No one inside was able to help. We called the tour operator and he was unable to help at all. It was bad customer service overall.

Bring a bottle of water. You can drink it and then refill it with the amazing fresh water fountain in Ancient Rome. This was an amazing adventure.
