Climb to the Toubkal Refuge

After a transfer to the little village of Imlil we begin our trek. The trail continues to climb steadily, snaking and zigzagging its way up to the snowline and the Toukbal Refuge (3206m), our stop for the night. L/D

Early in the morning we make our attempt on the summit of Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. When you reach the the summit you will see that the vistas across the surrounding landscape are quite breathtaking. Night in a guesthouse in Imlil. B/L/D

After breakfast we will leave Imlil. First we cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass of the High Atlas mountains. In the way to Dades you will be able to visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Overnight in Dades.

Erg Chebbi Dunes
After breakfast we drive to Todra Gorge and after a short stop there we drive on to the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will arive there around 4 and after a short break you will ride camels into the dunes, where you will spend the night in berber tents. B/D

After viewing the most beautiful sunrise and having breakfast at the camp site you will ride the camels back to the auberge. From there it will be a long day driving back to Marrakech, again via Tichka pass.

Mohamed Tsiou was our guide: excellent, he took the time to give us information, kept us informed of the game plans , and even accepted our request to climb the Toubkal in one day! Special mention to Mohamed Abayen (the cook) for preparing the best meals since our arrival in Morocco. Anyway, a great duet!

5.00This trip was fantastic value for money and we got to see so much of what Morocco has to offer. I would definitely recommend this tour but would the below improvements: - Better communication from the company. It would be great if we were provided with an itinerary with timings and a list of places we were staying. All of this was communicated to the guides but not to us so we were left in the dark a lot of the time. - Better safety instructions for the Toubkal summit as well as a pre-share of what to expect.

5.00Best recommendations for Jamal who was our driver for 6 days. Both in the narrow mountains roads or in the crazy traffic of Marrakech, Jamal is a safe and calm driver. He is always smiling, shares information and fun stories, always on time, discreet, and solves all problems on the way. Jamal was a large contributor to a wonderful week in Morocco

It has been such a pleasure! He is easy going, polite, insightful, knowledgeable and always on time! He made all the difference and we recommend him unreservedly.

5.00First of all - we booked this trip in the beginning of 2025. We found out about Toubkal Guide over a reddit recommendation and compared prices a little bit with one or two other agencies. We spend 5 days in March 2025 with Toubkal Guide as a couple and it couldn't have been better. We were incredibly happy with all organizations and especially with the guides. Hiking Mt.Toubkal: First we took a 2 day trip to Mt.Toubkal. Mohammed, our guide, was awesome and extremely experienced - he has been a guide on Toubkal for 27 years. Not everybody will reach the summit, so come prepared. Everything else will be taken care of by Mohammed. We met other hikers but nobody had such a great package with mule, lunch and an experienced guide for the price we paid. Sahara Desert Trip: After that we got picked up in the morning to go to the Merzouga desert. Our guide and driver was Said and we couldn't be happier with him. We did not expect him to stop many times and showing us interesting places along the way. He's a young guy and very easy to get a long with. Experienced driver as well and all in all a great guy who will teach you a lot about Morocco. He spent 3 days with us and spent more then 20 hours driving in that time. Not once did we feel unsecure or unwell in any way. In total we spend 5 nights in the combined trip and the hotels and stays were all great - especially the Hotel in Dades and the stay in the tents in the dunes. We could not recommend Toubkal Guide more. I can honestly say that this has been a bang for the buck - I don't know how it could be this cheap for everything you get - from the stays, to the guides and all the great food. Easily 5/5 stars. I really hope we can come back and do more trips with Toubkal Guide, as this has been an amazing experience.

It was an amazing week filled with many interesting, exciting, and educational experiences in the beautiful and contrasting country.
