What To Expect
Thingvellir National Park
Thingvellir, a national park recognized by UNESCO. From the park, we marveled at the breathtaking expanse of Þingvallavatn, the largest lake in the country. Walking amidst the park, we traversed the remarkable boundary between the European and American continental plates. We also witnessed the historic gathering place of the Althing, the world's oldest parliament, and gazed into Silfra, a symbolic fissure renowned for its crystal-clear waters, drawing divers from all around..
Geysir
Next, we ventured into the Valley of Geysers, where we unraveled the etymology of the word "Geysir," which christened all such geothermal marvels. The highlight was Strokkur, Iceland's tallest geyser, erupting every few minutes with impressive force, sending water spurting up to 30 meters into the sky. The vibrant hues of mineral deposits on the ground and the smoky valley combined to create an otherworldly ambiance.

5.00Both tour days were amazing, we took so many pictures, and Vlad always walked with us to take a family picture at each spot. His van was spotless and comfortable, and he was flexible with what we wanted to do and see. He had water and snacks in the car each day, along with a printout of where we were going and information about what we were seeing and doing. We were so pleased that our son-in-law booked him to take us on our last day to another lagoon and wait, and return us to our hotel to get our airport transfer. Once at the airport, I realized I had left our passports in our room safe. We called Vlad, who dropped whatever he was doing and went and picked up the passports, and drove right to the airport to give them to us. We would have missed our flight if not for him! We had to force him to take any money, he said he was just happy to help us out! We were 3 generations traveling to celebrate our 50th anniversary, and it could not have been a better experience thanks to Iceland Odyssey!!
