What To Expect

Our guide and the community ambassador with meet you there and will give you the historical context of the Barrio Moravia, explain its origins in the 60's as an illegal neighborhood and explain one version of the "transformation of Medellin"

The most authentic tour I have been on. This literally takes you away from the tourism of Medellin, and puts you on the ground level with the local residents of the city and gaining an insight into their lives. It was such a brilliant tour by Toto, who had brought Gladis (a local community leader) with him to further our knowledge and experience of the community. We had the pleasure of meeting Mama Cilla too, another strong person who has seen it all. I thank all for allowing me this opportunity!

Toto our tour guide who lives in the area and had lots of authentic stories to tell, a lot of info and enthusiasm and humour. Gloria, local community leader is an amazing women, who keeps going despite grief and trauma she experienced. What an inspiration and such a humbling and heartwarming tour. Definitely a must here in Medellin. Real city tour also gave us many recommendations, including comuna 13 tour, that was also amazing and doing the 2 in a day was full cominas experience!

Toto and the local leader reminded us the power of learning the "history" and the stories of those that live there. There is work to do, education was key for me in learning the ropes of what Comuna 4 has done and what one has to learn to be an agent of change, no matter where we are. Gracias/Thanks to Toto for his passion and commitment to education for all.

Very authentic and gripping guided tour of Comuna 4 together with fantastic guide Toto and community leader Gloria, who gave numerous and in some cases unsparing insights into her activities in the Comuna. I have a lot of respect for their long-standing commitment. This tour is very much on my mind in the aftermath. Therefore, I can absolutely recommend them to anyone interested in the development of Comunas in Medellín and want to experience or understand the contrast.
