Connemara
Leaving Galway City, we will take the scenic coastal route along South Connemara to Rossaveal Harbour. This region is steeped in history and culture, and one of the few areas in Ireland where the Irish Language is still used as a primary language.
Inisheer
Upon arriving on Inis Oírr by ferry you’ll be greeted by golden sandy beaches, turquoise water and maybe even the island’s resident dolphin, Dusty! This tranquil collection of fishing villages is also home to a burial mound dating back to 1500 BC, a Medieval Church ruin buried half in the sand, and a 3-story tower built within a Stone Age fort. Among the shore, you’ll encounter a shipwreck from 1960, breathtaking views of Connemara and the Burren, and one of Ireland’s most beautiful beaches. Whichever path you take on the island, you’ll be sure to stumble upon history, traditions and a good cup of tea. Length: approximately 2 hours

Great boat tour - saw all the wildlife we wanted to see EXCEPT for the puffins (apparently they left a few week before our visit, so not the tour's fault LOL) - but still excited to see the minke whales, a pod of short-beaked common dolphins, seals, and various water fowl. Warning though, the seats on our boat were not typical seats. They were semi-standing - a narrow seat between your legs. Imagine resting on a bike (no wheels - just you, the seat below you, and the support under the seat). I share that because there were several times during the tour that I was tired of using my legs to support me and really just wanted to sit in a normal seat.
