This is a perfect experience for anyone looking to connect with local culture over food. Your cooking class will take place in a local home kitchen where Katerina will teach you how to make 2-3 traditional Greek dishes. After cooking, you will enjoy your meal together in your host's home.

What To Expect

This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Katerina will welcome you with a warm smile and a very Greek aperitif of olive, cheese, and home-made hummus served with toasted oregano pita (traditional Greek bread). Katerina’s kitchen is small, so you may use the dinning table to prep your ingredients for the cooking class. In your 1.5 hours, hands-on cooking class learn to make a salad, dip and main dish, that you will be eating together later. During your cooking class, you will learn more about cooking a traditional Greek meal using family recipes and secret tips that Katerina will share! She also likes using local and seasonal ingredients and will even share the origin of ingredients and how it is used in Greek cooking.

This was a true and authentic Greek experience. Katerina was wonderful and I felt like I was with a friend. So kind and generous. The food was absolutely amazing.

Cooking with Katerina was like sharing the kitchen with an old friend with a glass of wine, good food and the laughter. I have been in cooking classes before in an industrial kitchen but this was a home, a chance to see how people really live and cook. Katerina was patient, knowledgeable and well skilled in the culinary arts, we enjoyed our experience - it is an experience as compared to a "cooking class" which is want we wanted.

My wife and I booked our class with Katerina when our other cooking class in Athens got cancelled. We loved that this experience was in Katerina’s home and it was a fun opportunity to see how real Athenians live and eat away from the main touristy part of town. Katerina had prepared many dishes ahead of time, so we didn’t do as much hands on cooking as other classes we’ve participated in before. However, this just gave us more time to sit, talk, and eat with her which was absolutely wonderful. I would give the experience 6/5 if I could!

Katerina’s cooking class is a delightful experience with a skilled chef and lovely person. Katerina’s home outside of the Athens city center provides a stylish, intimate setting to learn from her years of catering to clients across the Greek Islands. We helped to prepare multiple sweet and savory dishes from simple, flavorful ingredients from the local markets, and we benefited from Katerina having pre-cooked a few time-consuming homecooked favorites. Our evening was punctuated by pleasant conversation, as we learned of Katerina’s stories while she thoughtfully listened to ours. This class is perfect for a couple or small group looking to have a personalized lesson on good Greek cooking while learning some new dishes and hints for authentic preparation.

Katerina was so gracious welcoming us into her home for a cooking lesson! We loved hearing and seeing how she lived and of course the food was fantastic! Got home and immediately made tzatziki!

Katerina is wonderful as a host and an excellent cook. She is delightful and engaging. She showed us how to make several dishes and shared her knowledge of cooking. It is also hands on so we helped make part of the dinner. The food was delicious and plentiful! A wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

Katerina is a wonderful person - lively, engaging, outgoing and a fantastic cook. Our meal started with appetizers and lots of conversation. Next came the cooking lessons. She showed us how to make an appetizer then we practiced. Next she showed how to make a traditional Greek salad. Then it was dinner time. The entire meal was delicious and plentiful. She is the consummate host. Highly recommend this experience!

My wife and I spent an amazing evening with Katerina. She is an amazing chef and an even better person. She showed us how to make a few Greek dishes, giving us a chance to participate, an explained everything a long the way. I would highly recommend Cooking with Katerina as a must do evening event during a stay in Athens.
