Cook your catch on the beach! What’s better than a full day trip of snorkeling, fishing and beach cooking on a secluded beach in Southern Belize? It’s intimate, fun, tasty and very inexpensive.
You are taken out on this adventure trip on one of our boats to the southern barrier reef for snorkeling and fishing.

What To Expect

our captain will take you to his favorite spot for your chance at catching snapper, grouper, barracuda, lion fish, lobster (seasonal) and conch (seasonal). After snorkeling, you’ll get on board and your guide will whisk you away to a private island where you will be able to cook your fresh catch! Your guide will cook your catch right in front of you on the beach ensuring the freshest & best cooking experience possible. Feast on your freshly grilled catch and delicious sides. After lunch, relax on the beach and enjoy an afternoon swim or snorkel, before heading back to the mainland. You come to the beach, eat, drink and be merry. It’s that simple!

5.00Look no further then GTKB when you are booking your adventures. Josie makes every booking easy and perfect. She helps modify any needs you are looking for to guarantee an amazing experience for everyone! This was our second time to Hopkins, and we would use no one other than GTKB. All of our tour guides not only care about your experience, but they want to make sure everyone is happy, comfortable, safe and having an amazing time. I was so happy to be reunited with several guides, who feel like family to all of us. We can't wait to return, we will be surly calling them for all our needs, including golf cart rentals and transportation to/from airport. They do not disappoint. Missing them already.

5.00We had an absolutely wonderful day on the Cook Your Catch fishing and snorkeling tour with Get To Know Belize. We’ve used several different tour companies during our travels here, but this one was by far the best experience we’ve ever had. Our guides, Medz and Jeffrey, were so friendly and professional. After a great time fishing, Jeffrey dove for fresh lobster and conch to add to our haul. The guys then took us to a private island where they cooked our entire catch for us while we relaxed in hammocks. It was the perfect way to spend the day! We cannot recommend this company enough and we will definitely be back.

5.00We had the absolute best time on our “cook your catch” fishing tour and private island lunch! Lennox and Theodore were amazing guides: so friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to spend the day with. They were super flexible and understanding when we had an issue with our room and needed to adjust the pickup time, which we really appreciated. We caught two barracuda, a snapper, and even some lobsters while snorkeling… such a blast! The highlight of the entire experience, though, was the incredible lunch they prepared for us on a private island. It was beyond special and honestly the best meal we’ve had on our trip. They cooked up a feast including curry fish, seasoned fish, BBQ chicken, stuffed lobster, salad, potatoes, pineapple, salsa, and chips ; everything was so fresh and flavorful. This was hands down the most memorable experience of our trip. Highly recommend Lennox and Theodore to anyone looking for an authentic, fun, and delicious adventure!

5.00You can’t beat Meds and Jeff for providing an exciting adventure on the water in this beautiful place. All five of us caught fish. It was also lobster season, so my adult sons were able to spear two lobsters while snorkeling. Then we headed to an island and enjoyed a delicious ceviche, curry fish and roasted fish, along with the two grilled lobsters. I don’t think we could have asked for a better time or experience.
If you love fishing, snorkeling and fresh seafood this is your tour!

5.00This was a tour I will not soon forget! Theodore and his uncle skippered and guided this tour for us, while Medz, Theodore's brother skippered another boat. The ride out to the part of the ocean we fished at was rather choppy, so if you get seasick, make sure to bring what you need for that (Dramamine, sea bands, etc) Upon arrival to the location, we watched them catch the bait fish which was a fun experience in itself. After that the guides taught us the skills required to catch fish at different depths. We tried a few different locations to catch enough fish to feed our group. Theodore and Medz both dove for fresh Conch and Medz spear fished some big snapper as well. We caught barracuda, and snapper along with others. We were able to snorkel as well during this trip which was a nice respite after being on the boat for awhile. It's a beautiful other world under the water! The island itself is unforgettable and the fresh seafood recipes the guides cooked were delicious. It doesn't get any fresher than this! Even the sting rays and nurse sharks came to feast on the scraps thrown in the water. And there was a friendly parrot on the island to boot!

5.00Everything needed for a great day is provided -- a boat with a captain and guide who know where to go and what to do, fishing gear, bait (obtained during the trip) and a private island where lunch - including what was caught - is prepared. A guided snorkel along the barrier reef is also part of the day. As with all Get To Know Belize Adventures we experienced, communication was excellent and the guides made the experience interesting, enjoyable and comfortable.

5.00We had an amazing time!!! Theo and Big Grouper made it so fun for us. They made sure we caught fish and even got us a lobster, then cooked us a delicious meal on the island. We saw dolphins from the boat and then snorkeled and saw nurse sharks, sting rays, and a variety of beautiful fish. Overall it was an amazing day.

5.00This tour company is family-run by locals and Letticia was extremely helpful! The Cook Your Catch experience was amazing for our family with teenagers. Medz and Jeff are incredibly knowledgeable and made the day fun and memorable. We caught snapper, barracuda, lobster and jack which they grilled and served to us on private island! Snorkeling was beautiful and we felt so safe with Jeff by our side - highly recommend Get to Know Belize!

5.00Our day on the “Cook What you Catch” tour with Medz and Jeff was among the highlights of our trip to Belize. They were so kind, accommodating, fun, and wow do they know what they are doing. We fished, snorkeled, explored a couple of cayes, and ended with an incredible homemade lunch that was easily one of the best meals we had on our trip (and we had some really fantastic food). It was all amazing and frankly, the excellent company of Medz and Jeff were icing on the cake.
