We had a brilliant morning doing this class. We started off walking around the food market which is very much a local food market not a tourist market! There were scooters weaving in and out of us as locals got their ingredients for the day and there were all sorts of meats, fish, vegetables and fruits being sold. She talked to us about particular ingredients such as the difference between fresh water shrimp and salt water shrimp and we got to try some fruits like custard apples, and some other fruits we've forgotten the names of but had never tried before and then we made our way to the basket boats. The basket boat ride was so much fun! We got given hats to wear and we started off on a quieter stretch of the river before heading to the "party" zone of the river where you can do things like spinning on a baot or throwing a fishing net. These things weren't compulsory and they did cost extra so if you want to do them bring some money with you! Included with the tour was the chance to try fishing for crab - we could see the crab but they weren't hungry enough for us to catch any! Then we did the actual cooking class. We got to make spring roles, salad, crispy pancake and chicken in clay pot and everything tasted really good and you could customise things to your spice tolerance. Lily was a great teacher and we had lots of fun making the food. Thoroughly recommend it!
