More than a cooking class: a journey into Apulian cuisine between art, stories and seasonality, led DAti by a local designer in an artist’s house in the heart of Monopoli. Welcome starter, ingredients for pasta and dessert, use of kitchen and equipment, lesson, final tasting, 1 bottle of wine for every 2 guests, coffee and limoncello.
You will be welcomed in a charming artist’s house in the heart of the old town with a welcome drink based on seasonal vegetables and local wine (white or red, of your choice). We will then begin the practical workshop of handmade pasta, where I will guide you in the preparation of three typical Apulian formats: cavatelli, fusilli and orecchiette. You will discover the secrets of the fresh tomato and basil sauce, enriched by the scent of Apulian extra virgin olive oil, with which we will season the freshly made pasta. To complete the dish, a touch of ricotta or parmesan cheese, according to your taste. As an alternative to pasta with tomato sauce, you can choose my ravioli stuffed with ricotta, spinach and Parmesan cheese, sautéed with extra virgin olive oil and sage leaves. To conclude in sweetness, I will show you how to prepare the mascarpone cream for my revisited tiramisu, made with homemade biscuits instead of the classic ladyfingers. Final tasting with dessert, coffee and limoncello. A bottle of wine is included for every two guests.

Marilena was extremely welcoming into her lovely, eclectic apartment. The whole family really enjoyed learning to make pasta and eating the results. Surely, we will repeat the recipe at home…let’s see how we get on :). A really great experience.

My partner and I absolutely loved this experience! We did not know what to expect, but it exceeded all expectations and was both intimate and special. I am vegan and she went out of her way to create a vegan experience. 10/10 experience!

Great cooking class in the heart of Monopoli, such a convenient location as well as a great class. Marilena was an excellent host, welcoming us into her home which was a cool and artsy space. The lesson portion of the evening was a lot of fun and very informative, making three different types of pasta as well as delicious tiramisu. Highly recommend!!

A fantastic cooking and dining experience. Learning how to make 3 types of pasta (which Marilena makes look so easy!) and then getting to relax with a glass of wine and watch it being cooked for us, with starters and tiramisu as well. All of the recipes felt accessible and possible to make at home, and Marilena is a wonderful, welcoming host with a gorgeous home.

A wonderful experience in a private home in the old town of Monopoli. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed. It was like sharing a meal with an old friend. We experienced the joy of cooking and the delight of eating freshly cooked authentic food. The tips and tricks for making pasta will be very useful at home.

Marilena was a fantastic host. She made us feel so welcome from the start. Her apartment is lovely, with examples of her own art. We made 3 types of pasta which Marilena made look easy, but there’s quite a bit of skill involved. We did our best and ended up with something that tasted great - by the time Marilena made a simple tomato sauce and cooked our pasta. Marilena then showed us how to make her version of tiramisu. It was quick and appeared easy but tasted great. Marilena made it a really fun evening which we all enjoyed very much. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re anywhere near Monopoli.
