We were picked up by the homestay and bought together at the market and received a tour about local food. In the kitchen in the middle of a sweet homestay in the jungle we were super lovingly looked after all evening by two lovely ladies, learned local dishes and had a delicious dessert. The whole family and the experience was an absolute celebration!! I will always remember that night fondly.

Had an amazing afternoon cooking local food with some lovely people. We were collected from our hotel by Vije and taken to the market to buy some ingredients where we were shown and got the chance to sample some different fruit and vegetables by Sudesh. We were then taken to the village and spent the afternoon cooking with Nandi and Nilu which was really interesting learning some traditional cooking techniques and good fun getting fully hands on. When we got to the eating part, wow, there was so much food and it was all delicious!

Cooking class was an excellent experience I could ever have never knew anything like this is availing srilanka. Nandi and Nilu were wonderful hosts and very friendly. Real authentic food will definitely try going home Will definitely recommend my friends and family

The best cooking class I had! From the very nice market visit to the extraordinary cooking. I felt really like I am visiting a family in Sri Lanka and are able to join their day! The food and hospitality is nothing short then amazing! The village is soo pretty and peaceful. I felt like I got the grandma I didn’t know I needed! I really recommend it!

Fantastic experience at this cooking class. Learned so much about Sri Lankan cuisine and we got to make 5 different curries and additional sides. It started with a really interesting tour of the local markets where we got to sample different Sri Lankan fruits before heading to the house and learning to cook. After dinner, we were treated to homemade desserts. Couldn't ask for more. Amazing experience.

Amazing experience. They met us at the markets. We bought the food then went back to their beautiful home to cook the lunch. A beautiful experience. We have had many highlights on our trip this certainly is one of them. Oh and absolutely gorgeous food!

It was a wonderful experience! Everyone should experience it. Everyone was so kind and helpful. From the very first moment, I knew it would be great fun. The visit to the market was very interesting. Great morning with Sudesh and his family enjoying a wonderful cooking class experience. Starting with a trip to the market in Kandy to buy the ingredients, Sudesh was very engaging, informative and good company. He showed us all kinds of fruits which we tasted, and the ingredients for our cooking class were bought. Then a drive up into the hilltop to their house. It’s simply beautiful and the cooking class in an open sided kitchen feels like you’re in the forest. Sudesh’s Mum is the cook and teacher and she is lovely. 5 or 6 curries cooked with explanation all the time. The food was delicious too! Can highly recommend this cooking class. The location certainly adds to it. Thanks for a great morning Chris & family
