We had an amazing overnight experience at Sirena Station with Corcovado Wild Tours. Our guide, Ale, was fantastic: enthusiastic, passionate about every animal and plant we encountered, and incredibly knowledgeable. She planned our walks brilliantly so we avoided the crowds, both on the trails and even during the meal queues at Sirena Station. It was a truly special experience, and Ale made it unforgettable.

Everything was very well organised and went smoothly including the booking, the boat trip, and the tour itself. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. We met some great people and a really good lunch was included too.

Sirena tour is definitely a must-visit if you are in Puerto Jimenez! It was very well-organized. We took a 1.5 hr boat ride and did get wet to go onto shore. Most people brought water shoes and hiking shoes. There is a station to rinse your feet and change shoes. The Sirena day hike was very doable with a clear dirt path. Our tour guide Luis spotted many animals and let us see them on his telescope. Highly recommend to bring binoculars! We were able to stop for a snack break in between hikes and ended our tour with lunch which was so yummy! This tour is perfect for those wanting to go on a light hike and see some interesting wildlife!

I see that Corcovado Wild Tours (CWT) has a good amount of 5 star reviews. It appears when they do it right, it is an excellent time for the visitors. My personal experience with them is very different. Three weeks prior to my trip to Puerto Jiminez, I booked a trip to Corcovado National Park (CNP) with CWT through a company called Get Your Guides (GYG). This was how I was directed to do the booking online, and I scheduled the payment in full, also as per the online instructions. Within one week I received a “Confirmation” email that everything was all set, and the trip would take place as scheduled. I had been to Costa Rica previously, and (basically) love everything about that beautiful Country. The main, if not sole, purpose of this January, 2026 trip was to visit CNP. I arrived in Costa Rica from Connecticut 2 days prior to the scheduled, confirmed, and paid-for-in-full CWT trip, and had booked a room in Puerto Jiminez for the night before the early a.m. departure the next day. The trip never happened. Upon arriving in Puerto Jiminez, I received an email notifying me that the trip was canceled. No reason was given, no offer to reschedule was made, nothing. I called GYG, and they told me it was due to forecasted weather. In fairness, the local weather report did say there was a 35% chance of a light shower lasting maybe 30-45 minutes the next day; when I was scheduled to go. The next day was another typically beautiful Costa Rican day, with zero precipitation. As I had nowhere else to go, I stopped into the CWT office in Puerto Jiminez, and asked the person at the desk why the tour was canceled. She said she didn’t know why, but would call her “Supervisor,” which she did. She then told me that her “Supervisor” told her that CWT could not get tickets to enter the park that day, so they had to cancel. I explained that that was not what I was told by GYG, and asked why, then, would CWT have sent me a “Confirmation” email 2 weeks prior. She said she didn’t know, but that my money would be refunded. Everything I’ve read and heard says that CNP is a “must see.” Maybe you might want to look at options other than CWT to get you there?

It’s busy, in the fairly small area of the park tours are allowed. That said we had a good guide and saw a good selection of bird and other wildlife.

Melvin is such a knowledgeable and skillful guide. He really made the most of our time in Corcovado and we were able to see and learn about so much flora and fauna. This day trip was also very well organized by the tour company. Bring water shoes/sandals for the wet landing into Sirena Station and to enter Sirena Station for lunch as hiking shoes are not allowed inside the cabin area.

Mel is a birdwatcher’s dream guide — an incredibly talented and keen observer who is the physical equivalent of Merlin Bird ID for the region. From hundreds of meters away Mel could audio ID and shortly thereafter spot birds in the thick of the jungle. To say we had a good experience is an understatement. You will not believe how well he can mimic dozens of species. Not to mention, he has top of the line equipment for a crystal clear view and photo of birds and other fauna. Birds aside, he has excellent knowledge of the forest and ecology of Corcovado — breaking down complex symbiotic relationships in a way that makes sense to the average person. There is legitimately no better —or kinder — person to lead you on this adventure. Worth. every. penny!

Terrific experience that included a boat ride, a hike in the forest and a super lunch. Our guide Melvin was thoughtful, and helpful in locating and identifying animals and birds during our day adventure at Corcovado National Park. Highly recommend Corcovado Wild Tours.

Very well organised, Jairo was great! He made sure everything ran smoothly with advice on getting an early breakfast, all necessary instructions, directions and even provided secure parking. Our guide Melvin was world class! Very knowledgeable, providing an unforgettable and personal experience that me and my girlfriend will never forget. He located wildlife that most people wouldn't ever spot, made everything very easy and even ensured we took some amazing photos of some truely breathtaking flaura and fauna. The list of species he helped us discover was truly amazing, from Howlers and Spider Monkeys, Tapirs, Deer, Pecaries, a huge variety of birds, reptiles, insects, trees, plants and even fungi. He has a wealth of knowledge having been guiding for over 20 years and really made it a magical and unforgettable experience for us both. The boat crew where also fantastic, making sure we had the chance to take in some spectacular sights on route to the park including Humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and flying fish too while also providing refreshment during the trip back. I would recommend using Corcovado Wild Tours to anyone looking to have the full Osa experience and cannot thank Jairo, Melvin or our Captain enough!

During the 1,5 hour way to Siréna and back we saw whales and dolphins. If you don't like swinging on the waves (like me) I advise you to sit on the rear of the boat and everything is ok. In Corcovado we spent many hours and saw many animals (three types of monkey, toucans, tapirs and many birds and other small animals). The lunch after was good. Many thanks to our guide Carlos. It was wonderfull to share his passion and knowledges.
