I'm an experienced Oxford guide who turned my hobby cycling the Cotswolds, into this fun tour activity. Electric bikes allow you to ride up and down gentle slopes & to experience an active day out in nature, without breaking sweat or getting sore muscles! We will see the remains of a Roman villa, a medieval manor house & enjoy a pub lunch at an award winning pub.
Coach tours to the Cotswolds all drop off at the same places which get crowds. On this tour, instead we will visit small villages & see historic sites, away from the crowds, including some of the best scenery.
The Cotswolds is a scenic part of England located only 70 minutes by train from London Paddington or less than 30 minutes tax ride from Oxford. It's my pleasure to share these sights & heritage with you on an active cycling tour.
Participants must be fit and aged 14+ as the Cotswolds roads are lots of up and down cycling but the scenery plus the villages here are beautiful.
Default itinerary is 10am to 5.30pm.

This tour is run by the same business owner of Visit Oxford Tours but it's booked via a third party
High performance ebike bicycle hire & helmet + high vis vest is included.
Cost of any transport to get to meet point is not included
Lunch or drink stops will be scheduled during the day and flexible where we will stop according to you. However, food and drink is not included in your ticket.
Please bring waterproofs & sun glasses (due to insects or dust)!
What To Expect
Swinbrook
Swinbrook is just one of several gorgeous villages or hamlets which we pass through. The default pub stop for lunch is also typically here too.
North Leigh Roman Villa
I will introduce the Roman history of the region when we visit the ruins of this large Roman farm.

5.00An excellent day spent exploring such a beautiful area! Alasdair was such a kind & humorous person & felt like a friend by the end. The tour started around 10:00am and ended around 5:45pm so it was a full day of e-bike riding and totally worth it! I loved the stops at the 700 year old pub and the lunch spot. I am so glad we booked this e-bike tour and I highly recommend it!

4.00I would suggest a few things. The roads are a bit rough so wear bike pants if you have them. You should be a decent rider for this tour. While Mike was all about safety, this is not for somebody who is not confident on a bike . Overall enjoyable. The bikes were great and the electric assist was needed for some of the hills . Not easy to get to Hans borough by train so give yourself time .

5.00My husband and I have travelled the world and this was definitely one of the top most wonderful experiences we have had! The tour guide was fantastic. The electric bikes worked great and were the best way to see the Cotswolds hands down. It was just our group of two couples and our guide. He was so knowledgeable and really let us take our time in the places we wanted to spend time. The pub we ate at for lunch was so delicious and in the most picturesque place. The whole 8 hours we couldn’t believe how beautiful it was!! Definitely take this tour! We will never forget it.

5.00Had a blast. The bikes are in great shape and make it easy, the best way to see the Cotswolds as you see so much more than a car. Plus the ability to stop and check out a pub or village church made it fantastic. Great information and fun time! A must do!

5.00My daughter (21) and I (50) loved our day riding with Alasdair in The Cotswolds. Alasdair was a great tour host sharing his vast knowledge of local history whilst making the day lots of fun. The six hours riding electric bikes meant we were able to cover ground and see many sites. The country side was breathtaking. Really enjoyed our cafe lunch and short stop at an old pub on the way home. Highly recommended for those that like bike riding and love a day in the country. Tanya and Emma (Sydney, Australia)

5.00We had a great time on the Cotswolds Electric Bike Tour. Alasdair went out of his way to make sure he had the right size bike for me (I’m 5 ‘ 1”) and had everything smoothly planned. He was a great tour guide and the electric bikes made it super easy and fun. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys seeing the sites and getting some exercise.
