• Definitely experienced the rainforest in full effect

  Great tour to experience the rainforest. I never scene some many waterfalls. Because it was really raining missed some because of the clouds but it was beautiful. Our tour guide Rocky was great! Be aware though it is really bumpy.

• Not for those with any back issues or claustrophobia. Otherwise, very beautiful tour

  When the information about the tour says there are bumpy roads, they are understating the situation by about 100 times. This is not a tour for the faint of heart. The vehicle we rode in was completely lacking a suspension and shock absorbers. If you are at all claustrophobic pass on this tour. Now that I have warned you, I want to say that the scenery is absolutely beautiful. The tour guide "Rocky" was exceptional. He stopped as many times as we wanted to for pictures. We stopped in a wonderful place to eat our lunch that we purchased at a local grocery store during the tour. The swimming portion of the tour could be dropped as getting to the water is quite dangerous. If you are into a true adventure then this is the tour of Tahiti for you. If you are over 60, I would think twice about it.

  This is essentially a day's drive through rain forest. All of the stops are either waterfalls, lakes or views over a valley. Some went swimming in a stream and showered in a waterfall. Can be a very different experience depending on the weather, many of the valleys / lakes can only be seen in the sun. Roads are steep and difficult in places with continual large potholes and bumps, especially going downhill from the cross-island tunnel. For some reason people stand up when the driver opens the roof. Everyone can end up wet as rain can start without warning. Felt one of two of the stops were ill judged due to the number of flies and we should have moved on immediately. Found the French passengers rude. They would talk through the English announcements whilst listening to the French ones. Driver collected various fruits during the journey for all to eat at the last stop. A good way to see the interior of the island with a high altitude lunch stop at a cafe (all the jeeps from multiple companies stop here at roughly the same time). Exhausting because of the steep bumpy roads. Most were half asleep for the final 30 minutes journey on the circle island roads back to Papeete.

  It’s a bumpy hilly ride but worth every moment to see the most amazing untouched land of Tahiti. Vaitea was a skilled driver and knew how to navigate the narrow road across the island. We had some short downpours of rain but Vaitea would put the top on and take it off again when it stopped. Beautiful waterfalls and valleys everywhere! Wonderful trip, I would highly recommend it!

  This tour gives the first-time visitor a wonderful overview of the island. Our tour guide was very attentive and super friendly. This tour is not intended for those with physical disabilities or problems with motion sickness as the vehicle bumps up and down uneven terrain and through water, but if you don’t have a reason to forego it, you’ll love the experience.
