Reception at the airport, hotel, or other location. Transportation to the Huitoto community located 7.7 km away. The first activity begins with a guided jungle walk led by a host. During this first tour, the objective is to learn about the different malocas (huts) along the way and talk about their importance and why they were built. This entrance trail will take us approximately 2 hours to reach the main house of the family where we will spend the day and night. Upon arrival, we will participate in many activities such as: swimming in the Takana River, visiting the chagra, crafts and painting workshops; but above all, we will witness the unique medicine that is prepared in this culture to the point of being invited to try it (mambe, ambil, and rape). The day ends with a nighttime exploration in search of animals “that the jungle surprises us with.” We will spend the first night in a private cabin with a private bathroom.

Our trip to the Amazon was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations. From the very beginning, we felt deeply connected to the culture, nature, and spirit of the region. Visiting the Huitoto Maloca was truly meaningful; learning about ancestral traditions, rituals, and the worldview of the indigenous community gave us a new perspective and a profound respect for their way of life. The visit to the Flor de Loto Natural Reserve was simply magical. Surrounded by lush vegetation, peaceful sounds of the jungle, and breathtaking landscapes, we felt complete harmony with nature. The reserve offered a perfect balance between conservation, education, and relaxation, making it one of the most special moments of the journey. Finally, Puerto Nariño captivated us with its charm, cleanliness, and commitment to sustainability. Walking through this tranquil town, free of cars and full of welcoming people, was a refreshing and inspiring experience. The views of the Amazon River and the pink dolphins were the perfect ending to an incredible adventure. This trip was more than just a vacation—it was a life-enriching experience that we will cherish forever. We return home with beautiful memories, a deep appreciation for the Amazon, and a strong desire to come back someday.
