Dress Code to Follow in the Batu Caves Temple - Cover your shoulders and knees as a general rule of the thumb. Since this temple is uphill, you will have to walk a lot. So, avoid wearing heels. Remember to remove your shoes outside the prayer halls.

5.00We had a fabulous day out visiting Batu caves and the waterfall (hot springs were closed) we also called at a pewter factory and Batik painting. Lunch was also included. We visited the factory and batik first. When we arrived at Batu caves, the view up the steps is fab, with the tall god stood at the side. 270ish steps later we got to the top, there’s lots of naughty macaque monkeys about, just ignore them, don’t look at them and definitely don’t take carrier bags with you. Also be careful if you buy food as they’re likely tj pinch it 🤣 Inside there’s approx another 90 steps up and down to the different area/temples. If you want to go in the main temple you need to pay a small fee and remove your shoes. You definitely need to be agile with all the steps, but well worth it. We then went for lunch. Rajan, our driver, who was brilliant in every way. Fab driver, gave us lots of information and was very friendly, took us to the best place to eat. It was a small street food type place and the food was AMAZING!! We then went to the waterfall. Again lots of steps but lovely views of the falls, All in all we had a fab day, it was a small group booking but there were only 4 of us (my husband, myself and 2 ladies who we’d met beforehand) so it felt like a private tour.
