We’ve been to Korea about 50 times so we’ve been all over and it takes a lot to wow us. The day trip hiking in Hantangang Geopark (Pocheon-si) was simply incredible. We hiked ~10km loop with Chris, but there are many trails with different degrees of difficulty. The basalt walls of the river gorge reminded us of Iceland. There was one side-gorge with a small waterfall that was stunning. During the hike, Chris shared secrets from his youth regarding the wildlife and wild produce (including acorns and pine nuts). The hike included multiple suspension bridges including an unusual Y bridge. We will likely visit again to explore other areas of the Geopark on our next visit.
