Often called “the road to the sky’’, it connects the regions of Argeș and Sibiu. Built in the 1970s as a strategic military route, it stretches about 90 km and reaches a maximum altitude of 2,042 meters at Balea Lake.

5.00This was a fun challenging hike with a little rock scrambling at the top. Our guide, Narcis, was knowledgeable about the mountains and Romania. He was very kind and patient.
