Al Balad – Downtown Amman
The Balad is the oldest section of the city which is made up of a myriad of markets. Wonderful walking tour of the city! Orwah was our guide and he did a fantastic job. We visited many of the local markets and tasted some delicious local snacks. It was planned for 2 hours and he spent 3.5 hours with us. We enjoyed it very much!

A very informative and tasty tour of the historic and popular neighbourhoods of downtown Amman. Orwah, the guide, is a very knowledgeable and friendly person who makes visiting Amman a real pleasure. His explanations about the history of the city and, more generally, Jordan and the Middle East are very clear and fascinating. Orwah will introduce you to the region's culinary specialities and explain their origins. A wonderful tour where time flies by. Thank you to Orwah for his explanations and the pleasant time spent in his company. When I next visit Amman, I will not hesitate to ask for him again. We met our guide, Orwah, at the Grand Husseini Mosque. Orwah was instantly engaging and he has an extensive knowledge of Jordan and the history of its people. We leant about Jordan’s culture and history and walked through all kinds of chaotically beautiful markets where we sampled local delicacies, each one more yummy until we couldn’t eat any more! Walking the crowded street, looking at all the amazing things - the food, the spices, the gold - talking to the stall owners, and being a curiosity to the local people was an incredible experience. We really felt safe and welcome. We highly recommend this tour for those that want to get an authentic feel for Amman!

Amazing tour, very detailed, not rush like other walking tours I've taken. Orwah knows his city, the story and culture to the detail. I will miss a lot if I tried on my own, like looking at the tea bags sticking to the ceiling Rowan even walked me to a local Hamman that I want to experience. I totally recommend this walking tour and the price, a good deal. Thanks Orwah

Had a great experience with Orwa. He took us through the beautiful streets and bazaars. He let us try some local delicacies and also suggested good eateries to try out. He explained the history of the place well and it was great to see the place from a local point of view. Super friendly with an amazing spirit !

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The tour gives you a granular perspective on the various markets and points of interest in downtown and places we would not have visited without him. We came away with some great tips and recommendations without feeling pressured to buy or stay longer than we wanted. He also offered to find time to help us shop if we wanted to re-visit some of the venues later in our trip. Orwah has a unique and infectious style, which is refreshing and entertaining. Thank you!

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this tour ended up being one of the highlights of my time in Jordan. The guide was absolutely brilliant—friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. He didn’t just know the history and facts, he had real stories and personal connections all over the city. You could tell he genuinely cared about showing us the real Amman, not just the touristy stuff. He knew pretty much everyone we walked past, which made everything feel really relaxed and authentic. He even helped me haggle in the market (way better than I could’ve managed on my own), and took me to this hidden local sweet shop for the best kunafa I’ve ever had. The whole tour felt well-organized and safe. The route was easy to follow, no steep climbs or awkward bits. For the price, it’s incredible value. If you're in Amman and want a real, local experience, this is 100% worth doing.
