What To Expect
Lake Retba
Departure 9 am from your hotel towards Lac Rose, journey time plus visit: around 6h including 3h journey Dakar / Lac Rose / Badia /Dakar.Retba better known as pink lake is renowned for its color that changes from pink to purple based on the intensity of the sun rays ,the lake is separated from the atlantic ocean by a large dune,the lake and environs provide a good terrain for crossing dunes.with water to the waist ,the salt seekers tear at the salt crust deposited at the bottom with a picket called 《djodj》before transferring shovelfuls of salt into canoes.women offload and piles the salt into the lakeside. for activities you will have : # tour around the lake ,surrounding fulani villages and beach by Quad bike or dune vehicle or for strolls on camel boat riding to observe the salt seekers.One can bath in the lake it self to enjoy the floating sensation due to the salt which happens to be a wonderful experience.
Upon arrival we will take a 4x4 vehicule used specialy for safari. Visit of Bandia animals reserve ,this 3,500 ha park is home to many animals some of which were reintroduced to Senegal after having disappeared there for a long time, such as: rhinoceros, giraffes, large antelopes, dama gazelles Derby elks, buffalos, patas monkeys, vervets, warthogs, hippotragues, jackals or mongooses... Back to your accomodation and end of service

5.00Excellent! Amadou is an excellent guide! The pink lake I advise you to see it between the end of March and the beginning of May if you want to see it pink in the early afternoon! Don’t complain that it’s not pink it depends on the seasons I thought it was pink because I came at the end of March! And the bandia reserve was great there you have to go in the morning! I recommend the activity! Senegal rek!
