The park was great. We saw lots of animals in their natural habitat: rhino, giraffes, antelope, zebra and ostrich. Hyenas were enclosed. Saw some monitor lizards and crocodile also. Perfect day.

The visit to Bandia Reserve could certainly be shortened and would be less disappointing if it were cheaper. In fact, we see essentially the same few animals along the circuit. Also, the guide of the reserve did not seem friendly to me, at least, not with me. Anyway, if you've never seen these animals before in a zoo or anything, then I guess it's worth it. On the other hand, the visit to the Somone Lagoon was beautiful and the course on the water so peaceful and beautiful! Our boat driver was very nice and he even agreed to pick us up freshly caught oysters (not included in the tour), it was delicious!! The restaurant was really nice and the view of the lagoon was superb! Perhaps a suggestion is to specify that there will be swimming time so that we can plan to change and offer an umbrella for this period. The tour guide, Diallo, very kind, open and accommodating! I had a great day! 😄

Trip started with prompt pick up at 8am and after one stop for additional guests off tp Bandia. After a 50 minute drive, we arrived and boarded with guide on our transport vehicle. Saw Zebras, Buffalo, Giraffes, Impalas, Hyenas, Turtles, Rhinos, Ostrich, and all sorts of birds. We saw may 'close up". The guide was quite good. We spend close to two hours touring around the preserve. Then off to Somone Lagoon after 40 minute drive. This was a pleasant boat trip seeing many birds and other marine wildlife as well as enjoying the breeze on the water. Then Lunch at a warterside eatery with fresh Looch. It was a nice, relaxing meal, with our knowledgable guide helping us navigate the menu. Then back to Dakar by 5pm/

Friendly driver picked me up at 8am after tour operator confirmed by phone that I was "me" and off we went to pick up two other members. Dakar traffic was bad, so while that took quite some time, we got to Bandia and got on vehicle and saw many animals at very close range. Others have complained in reviews that not many animals can be seen. We saw many, and the driver was very respectful to them. Then off to Somone Lagoon for boat ride and then dropped off by said boat at a nice waterside restaurant for lunch. The guides were so friendly and eager to answer our questions. Getting to both locations takes time, so that must be factored in.

I can't rate the tour, because it was cancelled due to weather. But I can say the communication and refund process was above and beyond. They are responsive and understanding and refunded our money quickly without issue.

Overall pretty good yet a bit boring. The bandia preserve needs more predators! Though seeing the giraffes was cool

The safari was very nice the boat trip at low tide rather poor. But a very very expensive trip, no drinks, but food included. Price performance, well!

Bandia Park was lots of fun. Many opportunities for pix of impressive animals, and I appreciated how the guide was careful to tell us which were native to Senegal and which were from elsewhere on the continent. Somone Lagoon boat ride was lower-key but also fun, including some unusual wildlife sightings too. Four stars rather than five because although we were promised an English-speaking guide for the day, at Bandia we (two English speakers who rode together out from Dakar in a cab with a driver who did not speak English) were put in a safari vehicle with a French-speaking group. The guide (from the park, not our tour operator) did try to translate all his commentary for us, but you could tell it was an abbreviated version. Please note I do not expect everyone in a foreign country to speak English to accommodate me, and in regular life I’d struggle along with my minimal French. But I chose to pay for an English-speaking tour specifically, and did not feel we were given that. One other thing to note, the lunch does not include any beverage, and you have to pay cash if you get something to drink. If you go on this tour be sure to bring a little bit! Nonetheless, the tour was definitely worth doing and I’d go again, just with adjusted expectations.
