Rozafa Castle
We drive from Tirana towards Shkoder. Shkodra is the only mentioned Illyrian capital in the 3rd-2nd centuries B.C. Visiting Rozafa castle we will not only experience the supremacy the Illyrians would have feel over their enemies standing in such an imposing Castle, but will also admire breathtaking views 360 degrees over the valley, the two rivers Buna and Drin, the lake of Shkoder and the surrounding mountains.
We will take a walking tour in “Gjuhadol” a newly renovated pedestrian area of Italian and Austrian architectural influences, testimony to this city’s historic links with both these countries. Then we can nvisit the Marubi Museum (Optional) (master photographer of the end of 19th century) which houses an exposition of old prints. He took the first photograph in the Balkans in 1856. Marubi has left a wealth of 500 000 glass negatives. The selection of prints we will view, show people and life of the area nearly 2 centuries ago.

I did the tour in Italian with Ervis because in Spanish it was not available. He tried to make me feel comfortable. Highly recommended

It was a magnificent experience. We contracted two excursions with the agency: the first day, Lake Belshi and Berat, and the segundp, Krujë and Shkodër. The guide, Gleni, was very friendly throughout. He spoke Spanish very well and helped us to get to know the places visited and the Albanian history and culture. I recommend this company without any doubt.

Excellent tour company with very reasonable prices, almost too reasonable so was expecting a ride to famous places with a little information given but I was pleasantly surprised. We had the best tour guide I have ever had & I’ve been to 20 different countries. I signed up for tours because after I arrived it took me about 1 minute after getting in my friends car to decide there’s no way I was going to drive in Albania & I’ve driven in most of the countries I’ve visited. I only listed one tour but the first tour to Berati was so well done we signed up for the Two day tour to Gjirokastra and Saranda (Butrint was included) and the one day tour to Kruja & Shkroda. Having Gleni as a guide was like having your cousin or other family member show you around.

The whole day was wonderful, and the tour guide Jetmir was just so great, and informative about all the areas we visited. Jetmir was probably the most outstanding guide that I have ever encountered. I will most certainly request his services again.

I booked this tour after having a good first experience with Aria travels. I took the Berat tour and was assigned same tour Guide for this tour - Gavi. It was a good experience as well. We started out on time. Went to Shkoder, first saw the lake, then the Rozafa castlte. As expected, the guide gave interesting details about the history, past and present. After this we went to the town. Visited the main parts of Shkoder, the great/big church etc. We left and went off to Lunch in a restaurant located in Fisht Mrizi i Zanave is set in village of Fisht. Its an agro tourism place, quite interesting. After lunch we went to Kruje. As I was really looking forward to this part of the trip, it was a little bit disappointing that we got there when it was almost dark. Some of the stores were closed due to the season...and those opened were about to close for the day. This was the 'BUT' ... which perhaps could have been avoided if we didn't spend too much time in previous places. We did some walk around the Kruje bazaar and castle. As it was dark, it wasn't the best if you like to take pictures and only have your smartphone. Gavi made the best of it. A store in the bazaar which was about to close gladly waited for me to buy some souvenirs. Not the best time to haggle prices, so paid a bit high for some traditional shoes. In all, a good experience. The only thing I would change would be the time planning, but this was no one's fault. So I'll still give a 5*.
