What To Expect
Bishkek
In the morning you’ll be picked up from a hotel to start your exciting tour. We’ll head towards Burana Tower to the small town of Tokmok (80km from Bishkek). You will drive along the border with Kazakhstan and, if the weather is clear, you will see the beautiful scenery of the Tien Shan mountains. Tokmak was the second largest industrial city in Kyrgyzstan during the Soviet times, and you can see some of the Soviet monuments while driving through the city. Then you will pass through several small but picturesque villages, and you will be able to see the life of the locals outside the capital.
Burana Tower and Konorchek Canyon
Your guide will show you the mausoleums and other buildings discovered by archaeologists during excavations, you will have a chance to climb to the top of the ancient tower, where there is a beautiful view of the Chui valley and the Tien-Shan mountains open. Visit the small museum, which presents various archaeological artifacts, as well as an open-air museum, which contains ancient gravestones, rock drawings, and other interesting historical objects found on the territory of our country.

5.00My tour to Konorchek Canyon and Burana Tower was the highlight of my trip! I loved that it was a small group and my guide, Faruk, made the whole day so much fun. He shared lots of interesting facts about the places we visited and answered all our questions about the country. The food was great, the views were incredible, and the whole experience felt more like a road trip with a friend. Highly recommend!

5.00This full-day excursion was truly memorable. The canyon hike was not too difficult, and the stunning view at the end made every step completely worthwhile. Our lunch stop was an enjoyable experience in itself. Above all, our guide, Andrey, was top-notch. His knowledge led to a very insightful and exhilarating conversation about the local culture and the country’s evolution post-Soviet Union. Highly recommend!

5.00We had a great day at Konorchek Canyons. It was very quiet, not many tourists around and the views were magnificent. The trip is about hiking and although the trail is not very demanding, I wouldn't recommend it to people with any mobility/walking limitations. I appreciate very good communication with the tour organizer.

5.00This tour was great from start to finish! The visit to Burana Tower was really interesting — our guide Andrei shared some stories about its history and the Silk Road. Then we went for an adventurous hike in the Konorchek Canyon, which were absolutely beautiful. Our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we had a great time. Everything went smoothly, and the whole day felt relaxed and well organized. Definitely recommend this trip with Datka travel if you’re in Bishkek!

5.00We had amazing guide Farukh, very knowledgeable and helpful. Hike wasn’t very difficult (but you need proper shoes, no sandals or flip-flops). Burana tower is impressive along with stone idols around it. We had two stops for food and it’s also was good. Long and memorable day.

5.00I loved this so much! Faruk is a great guide. The canyon itself contains a pretty level hike, but it's also lengthy and contains a few pretty challenging rock obstacles. Faruk always made sure that my whole group was together and safe wherever we went. The tower is so interesting with all its historical detail, and the view from the Canyons toward the end was stunning and very worth it! Highly recommend!!

5.00Faruk and Maxim were wonderful guides. They took care of us all day long like royalty. Snacks, cold water (refrigerated in the back), all the breaks we wanted, and lots of interesting info about the sites. The canyon was beautiful and the hike was great. It’s mostly flat with 5 “obstacles”—small climbs up rocks using ropes. Anyone with a decent level of fitness and a good attitude can do it :) We would totally recommend this tour!
