Abune Yemata Guh Church

ABUNE YEMATA GUH, it’s a Church constructed 1400year ago. ABUNE means Father, YEMATA means the name of the Monk ( who builds the church) And GUH mean the name of the village where the monastery is located.

Great tour, view from top and painting in church is wonderful. But it's got some risk to climb cliff, you can made it with help from guider and local man. They are skillful and strong.

My trip to the Gheralta mountains in Tigray with Arre was an unforgettable, amazing experience. Arre picked my daughter, a close friend and I up at my daughter’s apartment in Axum and right away I felt welcomed and comfortable with Arre’s positive energy and smile. Arre tailored our trip to what we wanted to see and more. The Adwa mountains were gorgeous to behold and Arre made stops he felt we would appreciate and would stop anytime we wanted to look around or take photos. I felt safe and cared for by Arre and enjoyed his company along walks to churches and places with wonderous views of the Gheralta mountains. He took beautiful photos of the three of us and I am so grateful for his guidance and help throughout our trip. Any future trips in Ethiopia Arre will be our guide!

Phenomenal experience with an expert guide! Arre is the definition of an excellent guide. He knew all the places to go for anything you needed and was very well versed in the history to give you backstories of anything you asked about. We adjusted our hours and he was able to accomodate. I recommend having Arre book your hotels directly for you. You'll get a better rate and deal with less complications due to it still being a remote city. I will definitely be using Arre for future trips.
Highly memorable experience, excellent background information on the visits, friendly and respectful tour guide.

Beautiful and impressive landscape of the northern region of Ethiopia. Arre communicated very well the important points to remember and was well documented on the history of the region.

We had a great weekend exploring Tigray and the beautiful mountaintop churches and scenery in Tigray. Arre did an amazing job arranging and was very responsive. Hope to travel with Arre again soon!
