What To Expect
Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings. Also known as the Valley of the Gates of the Kings is a valley in Egypt where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock-cut tombs were excavated for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (the Eighteenth to the Twentieth Dynasties of Ancient Egypt).
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari
The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as the Djeser-Djeseru (Ancient Egyptian: ḏsr ḏsrw "Holy of Holies"), is a mortuary temple of Ancient Egypt located in Upper Egypt. Built for the Eighteenth Dynasty pharaoh Hatshepsut, who died in 1458 BC, the temple is located beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari on the west bank of the Nile near the Valley of the Kings. This mortuary temple is dedicated to Amun and Hatshepsut and is situated next to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II, which served both as an inspiration and, later, a quarry. It is considered one of the "incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt"

5.00Our trip was not exactly an outsourced round trip from Cairo to Luxor. However all the tour arrangements were made by Roxana Travel once we landed in Luxor. Mohamed Hamzawy set an itinerary in Luxor that would work for us, based on our needs. And Ahmed Yousif was the tour guide individually assigned to us, to take us around Luxor. We stayed in Luxor for 4 nights and 3 full days, and here’s a gist of what we covered: Day 0: Pick up from Luxor airport to take us to our hotel Day 1: Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple Day 2: Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut Day 3: Hot air balloon ride during sunrise, Valley of the Queens, Colossi of Memnon, Temple of Medinet Habu, Valley of the Artisans Day 4: Temple of goddess Hathor at Dandara, followed by drop at Luxor airport to catch our flight to Cairo. Ahmed did an OUTSTANDING job of taking us through the tour of Luxor as well as Dandara. He also made us feel at ease (as it was our very first trip to Egypt), answered all our queries on getting around Luxor, and also gave very good tips on what to do and what to avoid. Mohamed did an equally OUTSTANDING job of creating a good itinerary for us and managing the details from start to finish. A BIG SHUKRAN to both of you for giving us such a great wonderful experience at Luxor!! I’ll gladly recommend their services again for anyone else interested in visiting Luxor.
