Great trip with our guide Ken. Good vehicle. Was nice seeing both sites - the setting is fantastic. Logistics worked very well.

  • One of China's lesser known top sights.

You won't find Dazu on many people's travel itinerary, which, in my humble opinion, is a big mistake. The rock carvings at Dazu are easily one of China's top sights and different enough from other rock carvings sites such as the Longmes Grottoes to warrant a visit. Plus, it's an easy day trip from Chongqing, perfect in length in case you are planning on boarding a cruise down the Yangtze river that same day. Our great guide, Christine, was very helpful in navigating the site and provided a lot of useful information for understanding the meaning behind the Buddhist and Taoist images carved into the rock. Moreover, she was very punctual and even called me late into the night the day before to customize the tour to our needs. Big recommendation!
