What To Expect
Wahiba Sands
South of Ibra stretch the magnificent Wahiba Sands (Ramlat al Wahiba; also known as the Sharqiya Sands) – “a perfect specimen of sand sea”, as they have been described. This is the desert as you’ve always imagined it. A huge, virtually uninhabited swathe of sand, with towering dunes, reaching almost 100m in places, sculpted by the wind into delicately moulded crests and hollows.

5.00We had an amazing experience as a family on this tour! From exploring Wadi Bani Khalid to the thrilling dune bashing and enjoying delicious traditional food, everything was perfectly organized. A special thanks to our host, Ghusun, who truly went above and beyond to make sure the entire experience was family-friendly. Traveling with a 6-year-old can sometimes be challenging, but he made sure our child was comfortable, safe, and included every step of the way. Highly recommend this tour for families looking for a memorable and well-cared-for adventure!

5.00Simply fantastic experience! The desert tour was perfectly organized and exceeded all expectations. Special thanks go to the driver tahar very nice guy, very good, attentive and always professional. He made us feel safe at all times, driving with great experience even in the dunes, and at the same time was kind and helpful to answer all our questions. The transfer from the Mandarin hotel to the desert was about two hours spent very quickly chatting and laughing. The desert is something magical, but living it with such a trained person makes the experience even more special. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to enjoy the desert in total tranquility and safety. Absolutely to be redone

5.00We had a brilliant 8 hours desert tour with our excellent guide Tahar. We drove maybe 2 and a half hours south of Muscat but the time went quickly with Tahar’s interesting stories of Omani life, landscape and culture. The empty quarter is spectacular and huge (wish we could have spent the night). Driving over the dunes is great fun and we met some wild, but friendly, dromedaries. We had a refreshing swim in the Wadi Bani Khalid on the way home then a great late lunch at very local place on the way home.
